I would put money on Alvarado knocking out Rios in a rematch. His chin is deteriorating, it's obvious. There's only so much a sturdy chin can take without defence .... Hatton a prime example.
Wouldnt say his chicn is deteriorating . He never even went down last night. soaked up brutal punishment. Myabe down the line his resistance will go, but how would we know it will be his next fight
Nope, hell he took more punishment last night than he did the 1st time around. Besides it's not like Alvarado has no power here.
He's about half the fighter that Gatti was. I never understood the fuss with this guy. He's already starting to slur his speech.
You could be right, although it is a bit early for his chin to give out. Usually, these iron-jawed guys don't start getting KOd until late in their career (see Ray Mercer, for example). If Rios's chin goes south this early, it would be a shame. I hope you are wrong.
You can have an iron chin with a ****ed up head. Having your brain repeatedly scrambled lowers punch resistance, no matter how great your genetics are.
Um, if anything it showed that he has one hell of a chin. People are bound to get rocked when they fight using Bam Bam's style, it comes with the warrior territory. Margarito is a perfect example of this.
He's going to get hurt bad when he fights people who can land punches that he cannot see coming. I keep seeing comparisons to Margarito, but at least Antonio had size. Rios is a small guy consistently taking big punches. We are watching his prime right now.
It's a ridicolous motion that if a fighter gets hurt in a fight his chin 'weakens' or 'deteriorates'.
You're all acting as though this is the first time Rios has been hurt. Newsflash - he's been dropped before, been rocked a couple of time against Acosta, and hurt a bit in the first Alvarado fight. So watching him get rattled again by Alvarado -- a known banger who knocked out a solid-chinned Prescott -- isn't exactly a massive revelation and that he'll get knocked out within the next two fights.
:deal If he was to have a 3rd match with Alvarado, he would still be standing in the end. It takes someone more skilled than Alvarado to take him out.
