As good as: On the same level as Brandon Rios, Mike Alvarado On the same level as Matthyse, Garcia, Khan On the same level as Timothy Bradley On the same level as Miguel Cotto, Ricky Hatton On the same level as Mayweather, Pacquiao On the same level as Pernell Whitaker, Sugar Ray Leonard
Think you've got your rankings a bit messed up, but yeah, I see him going on to hit the Bradley level of success at the very least. If he goes back to 135, I see him winning a title or two there. He'll then jump back up to 140 and do the same thing. Not sure about 147 yet. Need to see a bit more of him. But he does seem to have the combination of skills, power and chin to go very far. He handled Prescott better than anyone else has done.
He just boxed the ears off a contender who isn't himself elite but can trouble a few who are. (and has done) Crawford demonstrated clearly that he is 2-3 classes above that. He may not be a division ruler or top 5 pound for pound material, but he should damn sure be able to put something big and shiny around his waist and before long. (I'd say by early 2014, provided he keeps active without the competition regressing.)
He's a talented fighter. But I don't see him going beyond Peterson type level. If he had taken out Prescott then I would be singing a different tune but he didn't.
i see him being judah type level if hes given the hype but we havent seen much of him to really say anything this was just his coming out party
Lets not get ahead of ourselves here it was BREIDIS PRESCOTT Kevin Mitchell also did very well vs Prescott but couldnt make it past Katsidis and Burns, not to mention 140 is one of the deepest divisions in boxing right now. If I was managing Crawford id take him back down to lightweight and push to fight Velasquez (who also holds a win over Prescott) before going for Ricky Burns and then moving up to take on the likes of Postol, Cuenca and the top tier fighters who may or may not be there by that time by all means I was impressed with the kid and think he could do well if he is managed right, look forward to seeing his next fight
But if everyone thinks that this kid is the next best thing since sliced bread then its obvious what fight should be made next should he decide to stay at 140 Khabib Allakhverdiev - WBA regular world champion (so basically the interim) Allakhverdiev was the guy who should have been fighting Prescott tonight but pulled out due to injury and boasts wins over Guzman, Campbell and Mabuza and seems to have no problem travelling to the states.
