Who should Golovkin meet in this MW division? To prove credibility?

Macklin would be a good choice.

Even Vera would be a step up from LMW's

 

Macklin was approached for all 3 HBO dates so far, it's always a bad time. Here's recent:

Rubio would be absolute minimum for next fight.

Macklin or Quillin would be preferable out of realistic potential opponents.

 

See above for Macklin. Quillin said GGG has to build himself up first, like he did. And Rubio passed on the january date, and seems to be going the WBC/WBO direction.

Peter Quilin is the best match-up and best bang for your buck. Would Quilin pick a fight with him? Probably not

2nd best bang for your buck is Sam Soliman. This would be a great scrappy fight to see. And though Soliman is having a resurgence, he's never REALLY BEEN an A caliber fighter, though rated very high now. Should be a noteworthy win and a good feather in the cap on an international level. Good chance Soliman would take the fight. He seems game for anything and not afraid to lose, and a road warrior.

Chavez jr match-up for some serious creds. Not sure what the Chavez camp is planning for the future, but strong chance they aint gonna take it, but trying to rebuild Chavez.

Sturm, Murray, Rubio, Macklin, and Lee are all good step ups too....

 

I think Sturm should man up and finally face Golovkin in a do or die match. After that GGG could face Pirog (assuming that he'll become available soon)

damn, all those scared bitches. ggg is already a big enough name for martinez and well you know what makes you the biggest name? not boxing tomato can to build a name, but to fight the elite and cement your name in peoples imagination. lets say ggg is now a litle unknown, just think about it, if the first martinez - ggg is great, no matter who wins, but if the 1 fight brings total action, which he 100 % would and he would 99 % end witzh either tko or ko, believe me, after this fight ggg has his name amongs fans and a second one 'Martinez vs Golovkin II' would make a good ppv number.
