I think Arum won't let Chavez near GGG to be honest anytime soon. Barring a disaster in Chavez's tune up in the summer, Martinez-Chavez rematch happens late this year.

Mack looked good in the first half of the Martinez fight but that's because Sergio is a counter puncher and it wasn't natural for him to be the aggressor. GGG is comfortable as the predator and will stalk him and stop him eventually.
As for the guns-a-blazing Macklin from the Strum fight, I see him being caught while throwing and KO'd in the 1st.
If I was Macklin, I'd be pushing for the long overdue fights with Barker or Lee.

Macklin would be stopped very early unless he tries to box like the Martinez fight
But then he still gets stopped early
Would be a bad idea to take this after only having only gone 1 round recently

I just hope that one of the ranked middleweights decides to grow a pair and fight GGG. We've all heard it before about 'avoided' fighters (Paul Williams, Winky etc), but Golovkin is the first guy I've known who the top guys are actively showing that they don't want to fight. So far, both Quillin and Barker (Via Eddie Hearn) have said they wouldn't fight him, whilst Geales actions show that he would do anything to avoid him, Macklin sounded less than enthralled and Sergio hasn't even muttered his name. Pirog is the only top guy I think will have the balls to fight him.

drugs him, ties him up, bring baseball to ring, his brother & cousins as referee & judges ...then he might have a chance

Watching GGG dispose of Ishida won't have done anything positive for Macklin's confidence.

This fight = suicide.... Every other middleweight is staying away for a reason...

It will be interesting to see who has the nerve to put their hand up next.

Macklin wont take the fight unless he has to, he'd much sooner face Quillen Sturm or Chavez and either of those fights could happen soon enough.

  11. Macklin would start 2nd favourite but ggg is untested and hasn't had pressure put on him or gone the distance.mack should go another route though In my opinion

Everyone saying this would be easy for golovkin needs to realise that golovkin has yet to fight anyone in the top 10, he picked his belt up on a vacant and hasn't defended against the best, for whatever reasons, he hasn't. Macklin on the other hand has been in with fighters like Martinez and sturm, and caused problems for them both, so much that people still argue he beat sturm. This is golovkins biggest test by a mile, if golovkin blows out macklin I'll be sold on him, if not then I won't be too surprised.

Add N'Dam and Sturm to that list as well.

N'Dam dropped his belt when he was mandated to fight GGG and Sturm thought unifying against Geale would be easier than facing Golovkin who was his mandatory . I think he planned to drop the WBA belt if he beat Geale.

If Macklin wants the fight let him take it. Golovkin's record needs names.
