    He wasn't good for boxing. There's trash talking, and there's trash talking with a sense of tact and wit. The latter is done well by someone like Naseem Hamed.

    I don't think anyone in boxing history benefited (and probably still could benefit, to a degree) from one win as much as Mayorga...he wasn't necessarily good or bad for boxing, imo...just a character.

    I thought his act was a bit long in the tooth toward the end of his career. Still, he was a character and made for great viewing. He generally featured in good fights too.

    His fights and press conferences where must watch TV. I think it was the Vernon Forest weigh in where he had a slice pizza and a cigar when he jumped on the scales defiantly a character.
