1 of d 2 times that i can recall that your post carried truth in it .

McCall was in no condition 2 fight that night , he had some substance / lack of it in his system .

McCall of Lewis #1 is a top 4 H2H & P4P HW OAT whom Lewis could not beat

McCall did not do 2 bad in d rematch either until he either tried 2 lure Lewis again or got d craze , or both

Superb. Littered with punchers. The negative is that he lacks the boxer & counter-puncher types. A lot of big, hittable punchers. This is why many wonder, wish, and speculate Lewis against a Chris Byrd type. Some go as far as to say Lewis avoided this type of fighter. It's a great record, with great depth, and loads of punchers, though.

It is up there among the best.

It is clearly outside the top two, but beyond that you can make a case for putting it as high as you want.

    I think it's a top2 resume alongside Ali

No one seriously gave/gives Byrd a shot in hell. In terms of quick mobile boxers he has Tucker and Akinwande who he walked through. And ofcourse Vitali who no one has really outboxed and Bruno who has such a great jab.

    Best Super-Heavyweight in history.

    Best HW, Joe Louis.

I think it's easier to list those I'd rank above it and that's limited Ali and Holyfield.

Well he has wins over at least three likely hall of fame fighters ( Tyson, Holyfield, and Vitali Klitschko ). These three are in my top 12 of all time.

Bruno, Morrison, Mercer, McCall, Tucker, and Tua should be viewed as top 30-100 heavies.

Very impressive. Yet many will rate Johnson or Dempsey higher.

Holyfield and Kltischko are boxer / counter puncher types, with better than average defenses by the standard of heavyweight champions.

Lewis did meet a slick boxer type in Ocasio early in his career. He won every round, but did not look great doing it.

    SO!

you list 9 fighters, and all good ones too I might add just for the record.

but it really does demonstrates arrogant ignorances to just assume that because of earlier times and the fact that we don't know a lot about a lot of the lesser known comp that past greats fought, they were nothing, nobody or ****.

Wow, I mean TOP fighters, Champions and Contenders fighting each other and their contemporaries, I don't even have to question it. Of course they were good, great and/or noted fighters, otherwise they wouldn't have been swimming in and among the top men.

we don't know about them today, Big Deal! How many fighters do we know about today?

how about ALL the Champions, Contenders, Fringe Contenders, Noted Fighters, Prospects and Journeymen. NO flippen difference is there?

these guys were known just the same during their own time.

and any TOP fighters with over 40, 50 fights have got at least 10 equally great, excellent or known fighters on their resume!

don't be so naive, or worse, self serving!

Vitali is pretty cute with his defence.

But he's so extremely unorthodox that he's a little special thing on Lewis his resume that only Byrd has too.

Speak for yourself. I have been reading or watching films of boxing pre-1950 for 15+ years. Lewis has a great resume. He is one of three champions to beat every man he fought. IMO, the 1990's to early 2000's was loaded with talent.
