It's true though. people love to say Corrales was weight drained against Mayweather and discredit the win. Four months prior Corrales went 10 rounds with Angel Manfredy at Superfeather KO in 10. Corrales 5 prior fights that were at 130. Now Ward Beats Dawson at a weight he hadn't made in a long time and he gets all this credit for beating Dawson. The good ole boys like who they like and will portray them in the best light possible.
and yeah Chavez Jr is a bad fight, but Ward just wants to get paid. I say screw it as long as he fights twice this year
I don't see why Ward shouldn't go out for the best in his career, he beat Froch and Kessler so clearly rematches aren't in demand or warranted unless they come via mandatory.
Ward is looking for a PPV fight and this is the only option for that at the moment. Even then it wouldn't do very well IMO unless Chavez beats up Stieglitz or someone like that beforehand. Ward should just offer GGG a fight to give the fans something to get excited about. I'm sure he feels GGG isn't ready or hasn't earned the right to fight him though which is fair but Ward isn't exactly as big of a draw as he thinks he is.
If it's money he's after he could pack out a massive football stadium and fight on PPV in Europe against the winner of Froch-Kessler, two genuine 168lbers who would be ranked at the top of the division. He could also step up to 175 and fight Chad in a rematch at his weight.
It's a **** fight because Chavez is **** but don't talk about size when Chavez could easily fight at 175.
Top Rank Media= Yahoo, ESPN, Max Boxing, Scene and Left Hook. Arum wines and dines these ****s to the point that they deny TR robberies.
Yeah but Kim is saying that Ward is picking on a smaller guy in Chavez which is ludicrous. Yes Chavez sucks and got schooled for 11 rds by Martinez but he's not smaller than Ward.
Steve Kim is in the wrong... This is why, Ward has already cleaned house in his division! He wants a money fight with JCC Jr.. I don't have a problem with that! He has earned the right to some $$$ PPV Money.. He already beat Froch and Kessler... I used to like Steve Kim, seems like he's PMS'ing now days!
