¿ U sure ? , actually I think she's pretty hot , she is one of the most beautifull asian woman I've seen , Nonito is a lucky dude to have her as his wife , at least he'll have Rachel to come home to when Rigondeaux destroys him on April 13 . Peace .

If Rigondeaux beats Donaire, he wont destroy him, it will be a hard fought victory. The big question mark is will Rigondeaux be able to withstand Donaire's power for the full 12 rounds and I don't think he can.

Anybody catch the part about Donaire's gas mask training? I have seen MMA fighters use this type of training but never a boxer before.

Rigondeaux's straight right that knocked down the much bigger Marroquin scares me as a Donaire fan. What makes me feel better is that Marroquin lost to Francisco Leal so I'm confident Donaire wont get hit flush like that.

Nice countdown but too short. Donaire cracked me up when he clowned Marquez with the ****.

He always says stuff like that, he said he saw fear in Montiel's eyes too. That's just how he psyches himself up.

Conte an uneducated Moron? Care to share your superior resume with us? There have been studies showing improved athletic performance with both methods. It's not like Donaire is the only athlete who uses intermittent hypoxic training.

Oh I didn't know he said that about Montiel too. Well I liked the result of the Montiel fight, so I'll take that any time. :yep

I've seen a number of MMA fighters use that gas mask training but why don't more boxers use it? Boxing matches take much longer than MMA fights and one would think it would be more advantageous to use it when your training for a boxing match.

I have a masters degree and work in strength and conditioning. Conte doesn't even have an undergrad degree. The only thing on his resume is 'fall boy for Balco and failed supplement salesman'. It's also not like Donaire is the only dumbass who believes what he's told without researching it himself. If you understand physiology at all it's obvious why it isn't going to be beneficial. There is some research that live high-train low is beneficial (with just as many showing no benefits) but what Donaire is doing is the other way round, which has no research to support it (a couple of studies suggesting a minor effect but the vast majority conclusively showing no benefits, often detrimental effects). Performing anything in hypoxic conditions is going to decrease the intensity you can train at, many an athlete has made the mistake of going to train at altitude for weeks and come back to find they have detrained. You dehydrate easily, metabolically you're using up more energy at lower loads and rest so muscle atrophy is a real problem as well. Train low - live high makes some sense and you can get some minor improvements to RBC that typically disappear after 2-3 weeks at sea level. What Donaire is doing makes zero sense physiologically. Conte is an idiot, he doesn't have any idea what he's talking about, he's a bogus salesman making a living off his connection to BALCO and his sham ZMA supplements. And I'm betting he introduced the idea to Donaire. It was hilarious when Donaire was trying to explain what it does.

Because MMA fighters love gimmicks and to pretend that they're using 'science' to gain an advantage.

good post. Donaire is not a very bright person.

So in essence it's just like those idiots who do cardio before lifting weights. the cardio will burn energy and thus less strength and performance in the gym.

Thanks bro for the detailed information. I will say however that I have personally used ZMA and it works. It has helped me recover after after my weight lifting workouts and enabled me to pack on more muscle in the process. It gives me the energy to do the extra rep that is so beneficial to adding mass.

Conte professes live high, train low. I'm not sure there's substantial evidence one way over the other to verify one method being wrong or incorrect or harmful the way you're claiming. I don't know though, but I do know in these fitness related discussions people can get dogmatic about unproven things. Maybe you've read studies, though.

    *Edit*

I see the studies now. Still curious about how the opposite is harmful considering it's popularity.

Where exactly did you infer that from his post?
