If Hatton retired at 43-0, is his resume better than Calzaghe?

    43-0 vs. 46-0.

    You decide, ESB.

It's not even close. Calzaghe by a long, long ways.

Hatton: Tszyu, Urango, Maussa, Collazo, Castillo, Phillips, Tackie

Calzaghe: Kessler, Hopkins, Lacy, Eubank, Bika, Reid, Veit X2, Jones

Even if Hatton had Mayweather on his resume, it still probably doesn't beat out Calzaghe's. Calzaghe's resume just has more in depth overall.

How about if Hatton was 43-0 with Wlad on his resume?

Hatton would only have Tszyu and past prime Castillo.
    Calzaghe has Hopkins and Kessler.

It would be better if it had Mayweather. But otherwise I agree.

Jc's win over eubank is similar to hattons Castillo win- both class fighters still fighting at world level but a bit on the old side.

Also the Hopkins win dwarfs the tszyu one. Joe also has 20 defences which inc wins over Kessler Lacy Brewer Mitchell Bika Reid Woidhall and solid wins over sheika and veit.

If it had Mayweather it would eclipse any of Calzaghe's wins.

If he went to 44-0 and beat Mayweather decisively, I'd have to think about it.

Whoever beats Mayweather decisively, even though he is already 37 years old, will accumulate one of the greatest victories in boxing history.

Hatton could have avoided Mayweather and Pacquiao and quit easily surpassed Calzaghe's 46-0. He could have stuck around and maybe added past prime De La Hoya to his resume.

If he had then you would get threads popping up on here about how Hatton would have beaten Mayweather, Mayweather ducked Hatton, Hatton is one of the best ever etc.

    This made me laugh.
Calzaghe has 1 of the most shallow resumes of any supposed "great".

Hattons would be even shallower at 43 - 0 but with a Mayweather win it would blow Joes out of the water by miles.

Joe has no defining win to speak off.
Hopkins being way passed it just leaves Kessler.

Ricky dared to be great, and even with some losses he made money Joe could not even dream of.

No clear defining win..lol. Your hate for Calzaghe has blinded you severely.

    Lacy/Kessler/Eubank/Hopkins aren't defining wins? :huh

They are all great wins. Not ATG wins but great wins nevertheless

Ricky's resume is so thin.... no matter how you think about it. Mayweather would be a GREAT GREAT win and be better than any of Calzaghe's wins.. but would it really put him ahead of Calzaghe's OVERALL? I don't think so.
