Why would you turn on Pac for DLH, you ****ing idiot? He took a massive risk, how was he to know DLH would **** up his diet? DLH cherrypicked him, not the other way. Damn man, I can only assume you started watching boxing after that.

You're right... I look dumb for assuming it was WW...

Pacquiao fans said the same thing after he beat Margarito. Jones fans said the same thing after he beat Ruiz. The reason people say it is because it's true.

People hate on the Oscar win way too much. While it may be more of a star building fight than a legacy building fight, people who dismiss it are a little off base.

That said, everybody knew that Oscar hadn't made weight at welter in over 7 years. Kiiiiiiiiiiiinda a big deal that can't be ignored. We're not talking about going from 118 to 115, and we're not talking about someone who was in their twenties either.

So if Roach knew it, how come it escaped DLH, Schaefer, Nacho, Dundee and the rest of the crew? They were a little closer to the action. Sure DLH is not too smart, but Dick supposedly is. Why wouldn't he prevent the humiliation if it's so obvious in advance?

As for Pac, he still had to take Coach Freddie's word for it. Freddie's not always right, and if he's wrong this time, Pac's head is off.

DLH took a the Forbes fight at 150 cause he was looking to beat up a midget at welter, Hatton was his first choice after Floyd rematch fell thru.

If you compare Ward Dawson, Ward was a 4/1 fav that didn't have to budge a pound, and Dawson hadn't even shown he was effective anywhere below 175. Pac went up 2 weightclasses, having just moved up 1 fight prior.

After the fact. So did Scully and Dawson. But they weren't calling the shots vs Ward. By contrast, DLH and Schaefer were fully at the wheel when they drove the bus down the cliff.

It'd help if you could bump your prediction, ideally when the fight was signed.

Roach wouldn't let Pac fight DLH if it was such a "massive risk" as you put it. At the time Margarito was on fire and at the top of the welterweight division. When asked if he'd let Pac fight Marg, Roach openly admitted they'd be dumb to challenge Marg. That's Roach's answer. Not mine.

I don't have a problem with Pac fighting DLH for the money and fame. The thing that ****ing annoys me is when Pac fans make it out to be a perfect performance and the greatest display of courage man has ever witnessed. **** no. If the average delusional Pac fan rate Pac's win over DLH as a 10/10 the actual score that's closer to reality is 6 or 7 when you consider the career stage DLH was at. Beating prime Marg who was fresh off the destruction of Cotto would've been a 10/10.

Man, welter or Marg was not on their radar at all. He just moved to LW, not long before people were saying 130 was his limit, Juan Diaz would be too much for him at LW. They got an offer they couldn't refuse, and took it.

It certainly was a massive risk, he could have got knocked out clean with a single punch by the much bigger guy. Certainly a lot less far fetched than getting KOed by 39yr JMM who couldnt drop him for 39 rounds. The odds reflected that, Pac was an underdog. A big underdog on ESB, for example.

I'm not sure Pac ever even entered the 154 rankings. He vacated his bogus belt on the spot, and never went back. Roy was also paper champ at HW, no doubt, still a great accomplishment. But Floyd and his fans love to point out he's #1 at SWW, beat the #1 guy, 2x champ etc. What it boils down to is 2 past prime guys that started below welter, and a bunch of excuses for not facing natural SWWs

I dont feel like digging through your history, I'll take your word for it. But get this, the fight was not signed after Oscar was down to the fighting weight weeks before the fight. Still, i'm sure Team GB could have benefited from your services, even without your time machine.
