Maybe he did. Larry Beat Mercer easily. Easiest win of his career. Mercer was robbed of a win against Lewis. Holmes went the distance with prime Holyfield. Holmes had a competitive fight with McCall.

There was a chance that Old man Homes could beat Lewis and Lenny would risk it.

"Robbed". A word used far too easily by some people. A true robbery is when a fighter wins a fight by a very large margin and also dominates the rounds that he wins, yet doesn't get the decision. Thats what I'd call being "robbed". Not the case with Lewis-Mercer.

I did post an interview recently where Holmes stated that Lewis told Larry his jab was too good and he didnt want to mess with him.

Tyson and Evander were past prime but still dangerous, McCall loss first time he was green but he was lucky the ref stopped it when he did because he was on wobbly legs and could have gotten hurt or ruined. Rahman KO was another loss that I would say Lennox was not best prepared. Lewis had a great offense, one of the best but never KO'd a man after the 8th round and never got off the floor to win. Good win over Vitali but a hit and hold tactic opened up the cut and he was fortunate that cut opened because it gave him energy and I still had Vitali ahead but they had to stop it.

Overall a great 1-8 round offensive fighter who was tough and mean but once hurt badly or dropped the record would show he did not recover well. he had a short career with about 40 fights and at 37 (Vlads age) he should have fought Vitali because the fight would have been huge...to his credit he retired at a good age but did he know he had a small chance in a rematch with Vitali and therefore turned down the biggest purse of his career a lot of Big pluses but some large minuses

Comparable with anybody with a consensus rating in the top 5-10 ATG HW region.

But IMO, doesn't even have the best resume among Heavyweights in his own era.

Tru dat... but if you want to get super-technical. Lewis was the best Heavyweight of his era (by default) seeing as though he wasn't really apart of the Tyson/Holyfield era. Both guys were undisputed champs in their respective weight divisions while simultaneously, Lewis was fighting in 3 rd'ers with headgear. And both Tyson & Holy were largely considered to be near the end of their careers while Lewis was near his peak. Bowe is the CO-ATG of Lewis's era, and Lewis refused to fight him (turned down a career high payday 3 times).

But excluding Holyfield, i think Lewis has the best Heavyweight resume of the past 30-some years. And that's including Larry Holmes. But that's just purely resume, when you take EVERYTHING into consideration, especially the KO loses to sub-par op during his prime. I think Holyfield, Tyson & Holmes have a better overall body of work. And all deserve to be rated a slot or 2 above Lewis.

It's called being a fan. I'm a fan. Was Bowe perfect? No. Was he good? yes.

Surely Lewis's win ( some would say wins )over Holy himself were at least as good as Holy's over Tyson ?

Lewis has a tip-top resume, no doubt about it. Top 3-5 resume for me easily

It's the resume of an ATG and Top 5 heavyweight of all time.

    Quite simple really.

Yes he is another Yank who tries to rewrite Bowe history and tries to put down Lewis.

    Pathetic.
