So so true - I still remember Mayweather's reply to Merchant when Merchant asked him after the Hatton fight "Are you really retiring and not taking on other great fighters in this division, how do you expect to be called the best" - Mayweather went on about his titles, nothing to prove, I beat anyone and then retires for 18 months to do some juicing and wait for Mosley, Margarito and Cotto and then later Pacquiao to continue beating each other up before coming out of the woodwork, fighting a lightweight at least 15lb-20lb lighter than him on fight night, take another 9 months off for more "conditioning" and then finally taking on a 38 year old Mosley after his tough fights with Cotto and Marg, who hadn't fought for 18 months :rofl

Why not b/c the WBC gave it to Pac, lol. Look Pac has done great things for the sport and I definitely appreciate watching him fight thus far, but lets not get carried away. They could have easily put Floyd, Hopkins, one of the Klits, etc.. up there. No hate. Congrats to Pac for getting named FOTD. But loosing twice against mediocore competition and having 2 draws shouldn't earn you fighter of the decade. Again no hate, just real talk.

Yes, we;'ve already established Floyd is the greatest of the era and at 147 his favourite weight.

But we want him to push forward to getting a greater legacy, because the Top 50 ATG list is down to legacy, and he has the ability to move further up in the rankings.

So fighting Canelo-Trout winner 1. at 154lbs which isn't his prime weight 2. at the age of 37 3. against a LEGIT champ IS something that tests his legacy.

Medogen Singsurat is not mediocre at all. He was also still developing as a fighter in his early pro career. The few losses are actually amazing given he's had little to no amateur experience. Floyd's amateur record was 84-6 and he probably lost to a lesser fighter or two.

You can make an argument that Pacquiao was the fighter of the decade 2000-2010, but Mayweather basically can make the same argument as both have fought similar opponents. Pacquiao distinguishes himself with decisive victories against ATG's Morales and Barrera whom Mayweather never fought. However, Mayweather has fought Corrales and won amazingly, Zab Judah who was still mostly in his prime and has fought the fighters (De la Hoya,Hatton,Mosley,Cotto) Pacquiao has before Pacquiao for the most part (exception of Cotto).

But post 2010 Pacquiao has only had one good win against Shane Mosley who was arguably out of prime, an unofficial victory against Bradley and a brutal knockout loss.

Oh we forgot that this era started in 10 . Face it *****s, Floyd will always be remembered as a coward. History will look back and remember that SRL was the fighter of the 80, RJJr the 90, Pacquiao 00(the same decade Floyd was fighting:lol:), and somebody else 10. Floyd will never be in the pot with these fighters to become greatest fighter in the last 100yrs .
