Do I think he can start cutting his teeth on a higher than normal class of early opponent, skipping tomato cans and proceeding directly to gatekeepers like a Beibut Shumenov or Kubrat Pulev? Yes.

Do I think he can get to a world title inside a dozen bouts like a Guillermo Rigondeaux? Yes.

Do I think he can or should make his debut challenging Adrien Broner? No.

Good scrap between Loma and Semilov. The latter is a fantastic fighter in his own right, and the fact that Loma did not dominate the fight (I had it 4-1, but not an overwhelming 4-1, if you get my drift) speaks more to the quality of the opposition than it does anything else.

Albert, in my opinion, could be a champion at the pro level as well.

As for Loma, Semilov is certainly leagues better than most of the fighters he'd be suiting up against had he turned pro already. He has room for improvement, and I personally would rather see him campaign as a 130lber in the pros.

    The elimination is already decided.

Italy beat them 4:1 in Poland so they only needed two of five to advance.

    The Hussars are out.

Italy will meet Ukraine in the semis.

In your opinion. His record speaks for itself.

Mexico vs Kazakstan will be a very interesting tie, I'd favour Kazakstan but not by much.

Ukraine have to be big favourites over the Italians. Be nice to see Lomachenko vs Valentino

I would have Kaz as bigger favourites if anything especially looking at who Ukraine is using for Leg 1. Ukraine is taking quite a bit of risk using some of these 3rd and 4th rate guys.

Parrinello vs Gogolyev - Parrinello got stopped in the 1st round of his last fight against Gojan by two left hooks that knocked him silly but he holds wins over Nevin and Riscan and is a good boxer with a nice jab and fast hands. Gogolyev impressed me quite a bit in his debut but Ukraine hasn't used him since which baffles me since he's way way better than Ilnytskyy although after rewatching his debut i wonder if he broke his nose which may explain his absence. Great upperbody movement similar to Mytrofanov but is much lighter on his feet and mobile being more of a boxer. Should be close.

Stankovic vs Berinchyk - Stankovic is a top LW and holds a win over Nevin this season and actually reminds me of Berinchyk a bit. I slightly favor Berinchyk but it should be a close fight and i expect it to be fight of the night.

McLaughlin vs Barabanov - Mclaughlin lost to Mytrofanov but kept it close and is a very solid MW. Barabanov is making his debut and won Ukrainian Nationals at 152lbs but to say he left me unimpressed would be a understatement. The guy is pretty terrible imo and McLaughlin should win this pretty easy. Barabanov has horrible balance and no defense.

Szello vs Solonenko - Szello is one of the top LHW's and should win this easy against the tough but one dimensional Solonenko.

Modugno vs Usyk - Arkhypenko got robbed against Modugno and he should be easy work for Usyk. Not sure why he isn't fighting Russo although:

    1) If Ukraine makes it to the finals it would mean Usyk would have fought Joyce, Medzhidov, Russo then Hrgovic/Nistor within two months so perhaps they want to give him a bit of a rest.

    2) Russo lost to Nistor and Arkhypenko fights quite similar only without as much power and already faced Russo earlier this season. Perhaps they think Rostyslav can pull it off.

Interesting...for leg 1 of the semis Mexico will be using the exact same lineup they used to eliminate the UK two weeks earlier: Elias Emigdio, Juan Romero, Marvin Cabrera, Isaac Munoz and Gerardo Miguel Bisbal.

Kazakhstan on the other hand are completely switching it up, with the exception of Yerzhan Mussafirov.
