The reason it's kicking off at events like this now is because it is in the main 'football hooligans'. Instead of doing it at the football which is very risky for obvious reasons they now do it at the boxing, darts and their favourite is concerts. It's nothing to do with drugs or alcohol. It would happen with or without them.
sounds like something you'd read in the sun and simply not true certain boxers or fights might attract a larger number of football lads but its still very rare a 'firm' will 'mob up' (ie get together for the purposes of having a row) for anything other than a match. and the only football trouble I've heard of at a concert is Wolves / Blues at a Jam gig in the late 70s!!
