Roy did cherrypick, but I like his record more than Floyd. When he fought great fighters like Toney and Hopkins and Hill he outclassed them all. That is the mark of a great fighter.

The difference is while Jones has wins over Hopkins and Toney his resume is thin.

Compare that to Mayweather who has Hernandez, Chico, Castillo x2, Hatton, Mosley, Marquez, De La Hoya, Judah and Cotto.

 

i prefer Jones record.

Mayweather has more "Good/Vgood" Wins. But Jones has a couple of ATG Wins.

And that's what its all about really.

Stick a couple of ATG type wins like the ones Leonard has over Hearns and Hagler, and Floyd is a top 15 ATG.

But he doesn't have that.

 

Jones win over Toney was huge man. Toney was the P4P number 1 at the time. That fight was for the P4P top spot and he dominated it.

 

Plus Jones moving up to heavyweight and picking up a belt was a big achievement. I know people will say "oh well, he only beat Ruiz", but if it was that easy then why weren't smaller guys queuing up to fight at heavyweight?

 

Probably not but surely a resume comes down to more than one or two noticeable wins? Which is why Jones gets knocked for his, he handled 2 very good fighters easily but fought a lot of poor fighters.

Hopkins has a resume similar to Mayweather, no real prime ATG's but plenty of top fighters.

 

Toney isn't an ATG and Hopkins wasn't even prime then so to compare his record to Leonards best wins is laughable.

 

i was saying more in the sence, of what floyds resume would look like if he had those wins.

I agree its not as good, but they are still very impressive wins on RJJ's side.

And personally i rate Toney and Hopkins as ATG, and i guess you could argue hopkins was a little green, but who's to say for sure.

 

Roy jones, he was a steroid junkie. How much of his achievements where down to him and was he only able to achieve a constant hi level of performance to to laboratory gains?


Plus, he has been knocked out by numerous people very easily.

2 excellent wins, but are they the result of steroid abuse?

 

You could also argue Marquez is an ATG that Mayweather completely dominated, a guy who then went on to drop a questionable decision to the joint P4P#1 at that weight before completely blowing him away.
