Top 10 British fighters of this century

If it's 2000 onwards, then I'd have Calzaghe, Hatton and possibly Haye and Froch above Lennox.

Right i've gone for Joe as #1 for fact he remained unbeaten, beat some quality names towards latter end of career and has depth. World class names on the slate even though some weren't as good as they once were still very solid.

Hatton pips Froch to second, The depth beating him just but if Froch beats Kessler then i feel i'd lean to him because quality of wins. Hatton's WBU years and few standout wins even though past prime to some just eeking it for him.

Haye comes in at 4, Nice little EBU reign and got some world class wins on record as well as titles won. Think Froch edges him for fighting consistently at world level and getting some really solid/good wins.

Now Lewis, Good wins. Solid wins. Tyson stands out for name alone but i don't think he did enough this century to move the others out. Quality win over Vitali although won on a cut. Tua was dangerous, Tyson was for me just a name and Rahman was good but never great. Think the other lads have enough solid wins with quality and quantity.

6th is Khan with some good wins on record. Domestically as well as on world scene. Witter is edged out by Clinton due to Clinton's quality wins on European and world scene. Witter then edges out Burns who's been quality but in all seriousness Witter's world level wins and continental reign and KO run take it for him.

Burns then edges out Nelson who had good wins and a draw but Ricky takes it for consistency.

Very tough. That's been done in 20 mins. Just my personal opinion. I had a hard time with Witter and Woods. They could rightfully argue being above each other.

 

Nice list but I'd have to disagree with you putting Calzaghe ahead of Froch,Froch has a much better resume than Calzaghe and has consistently fought the best in his division for the last 4 years and he will continue to do so until he retires.So many question marks over Calzaghes resume why wasn't he defending his title against the top guys in his division.no way I rate him higher than Froch not a chance.

Well the fact that hes spent the last five years of his career fighting the creme of the super middle weight division,while Calzaghe in turn took nearly 10 years to actually fight someone with a pulse in Mikkel Kessler then he ended his career slapping his way to decisions against two old men in B-Hop and RJJ.Froch has done more in the last five years than Calzaghe did in 40 something fights.

 

No he hasn't, Joe's record is miles better than Carls.

Carl has lost the 2 biggest fights of his career too, if you fight them and lose its not great for your legacy.

Fighting the best and losing is better than not fighting them at all,Joe beat Kessler and B-Hop fair enough but name one other fighter on his 46 fight record who's worth mentioning besides a shot Eubank and a broken down Roy Jones...

Froch has fought a serious list of fighters at super middle all in their primes yes he lost a couple but that's bound to happen when your consistently fighting the best Pascal,Taylor,Dirrell,Kesller,Abraham,Johnson,Ward,Bute

That list is ridiculous it puts Calzaghes 10 year joke of a title reign to shame.

 

Calzaghe's record is superior to Froch's, still.

I respect that mate, I'd say Calzaghe though still takes it on my list even after considering this response.

Joe's got some big wins on there. Kessler,Lacy,Hopkins. Jones and others are solid wins. I think Froch is still a little way away from that. Beating Kessler and maybe adding another few wins at world class level and he can overtake Joe but for now i go with Joe.

Froch needs to overtake Hatton on my list. Beating Kessler does it for me. Then he can chase down Calzaghe.

 

Yeah i know it is strange but a lots gone on since he was last in the ring. Feels so long ago now..
