BBC sport are a ****ing joke when it comes to boxing, some of the shite their so called 'expert' comes out with sounds like the opinions of a casual who only watches a few fights and actually knows **** all about the sport. **** knows how they got the job.
With all due respect, you got to put boxing and the BBC in perspective. The BBC does not have a boxing correspondent; as the sport is not mainstream enough to justify one now a days. I am guessing that article was put together by a junior staff member in Cardiff. Most of the other articles connected to the sport are written by all round sports journalists. You will know if boxing has reached the heights of past glories when there are 'experts' opinionating and writing about the sport on the site.
Im sure there is on fella who writes the boxing blog who specifically concentrates on boxing and maybe cricket? I may be wrong I tend to avoid their site like the plague these days
Remember the BBC also labelled boxing as 'barbaric'. It was either after Eubank-Watson 2 or Benn-McClellan.
Well it kind of is... Not many sports have the aim of trying to knock out your opponent, as a way of winning. The BBC has in the past been a big asset for the sport, and plenty of the sports journalists, want to see the sport sort itself out, so there is scope to get involved once more. Do not fall into the trap of believing as a generally 'liberal' organization, the Corporation would by 'default' have nothing to do with the sport.
Not as bad as this article - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/boxing/17448826 - where they repeatedly say that Cleverly is fighting Sugar Robin Krasniqi on Sunday 28th April.
