A new article on Boxing Prospects website looks at body punchers. Interesting to see that the sport seems to have a new group of really good body punchers despite the way the amateur side of the game seems to discourage them. ****ing love watching Ruiz fight. It's just something else seeing a chubby kid throwing combinations like Sugar Ray Leonard himself.
He's a World Champion so despite his age I wouldn't consider him for an article. The same also applies to fighters like Ioka who are certainly not the finished article.
It's always "nice" if you know how a livershot feels like and somebody puts a right hook to the left side of your body and it gives a sort of empty feeling there. You're so going to be happy your liver wasn't there.
Whilst he has a solid body shot on him I don't think anyone would describe him as a prospect still, he is after all a 2 weight world champion looking to claim a third title next time out.

Agree I he's very exciting to watch and surprises everyone with his combinations and speed...The first time i showed some of Ruiz's fights to some of my boxing friends they were like whoaaa da fat dude can box!!!
Take it you've not seen some of this **** people say on here? It doesn't mean they are right. To call Broner a prospect maybe true I as much as we don't know how good he is, but in real terms the guy is 2 weight champion and apparently a top 10 p4p fighter, I know I don't class him as a prospect despite his age.
