Roy never said that. He said he would come in sometimes at 175, and they said nothing about Bernard's weight, who's first career fight was at 175.
Just because you fight for a title doesn't mean you're elite. You really believe Gregorio Vargas is an elite fighter, huh?
Roy Jones started at 154 and eventually raised a HW World Championship belt, went straight back down and won back the LHW crown in his very next fight... That alone is better than anything Mayweather has done IMO.. Add that Jones beat 2 of the generations best fighters (Toney, Hopkins) along the way. And has many solid wins, in spectacular fashion.. I think Roy is greater than Floyd, by a comfortable margin.
Hi MR, out of curiosity mate, on ability how would you compare these two? I would argue Floyd has aged better and has been able to adjust his style due to having better fundamentals, but both at their peak I would say Roy was a better fighter, at his peak Roy might have been the best to ever lace them up
Thats not for me to judge. Elite is like the word ATG. It is subjective and based on opinions. IMO opinion i didn't list Vargas on my list although he is a solid opponent. You just want to be a troll and try to twist everything i say in order to save some face bc i've been beating your ass so bad in this thread. Floyd has been in 20 championship fights = Elite level imo meaning LIFTING A TITLE OR DEFENDING IT.
I haven't lost **** and you can't debate to save your life. Not only have I named several fighters but I have compared some of their opponents instead of just throwing out names. Oscar was an elite fighter in his day and still a good damn boxer when Floyd fought him but that win isn't better than Roy's win over a top 5 heavy weight WBA champ that out weighed him by 25 to 30lbs. :deal
Floyd's better days are behind him too, maybe he is not a ELITE fighter. Another dumb post. Big surprise. FYI Oscar ranked num1 at 154 at the time. Also Oscar is an ATG, whilest Ruiz is not. Hate to bust your bubble.
Idiot!! Read my post. I was comparing Floyd's win against Oscar vs Roy's against Ruiz. Not the Floyd of today! atsch
You are so emotional that you are missing the point. I'm not denying Oscar is an all time great. I am comparing their resume and the opponents they fought when they fought them. Oscar at 154 was a good win for Floyd but not better than Roy's win over Ruiz at Heavyweight. You are looking at the name and name alone and I am going deeper.
You are helping me to pass the time so why would i be emotional? Roy's win over Ruiz is better than Floyd debut at 154 beating the guy at 154 is better, grossing the biggest PPV number? Yeah, i don't think so. Ruiz was the weakest heavyweight champion at the time.
We are talking about fights with a belt on the line which is a championship fight. Roy's first so called belt was a vacant against Harris which was a belt of no importance but still was a championship fight for a vacant title. Or we can start with the IBF he won against Bhop.
I don't care about the PPV numbers. That has nothing to do with resume. Hell Roy made History as well against Ruiz.
