Jose Luis Castillo vs Miguel Cotto Who Woulda won?

Have to go with Castillo here. Castillo's aggressive style is pretty much the style that Cotto has trouble with and if Castillo was able to trouble Mayweather in his prime, he would seriously trouble Cotto. This fight will be competitive early with Cotto winning most of the rounds till the fight slowly goes Castillo's way. As round goes, Cotto will get tired and eventually stop to trade, that's how Castillo will slowly break him down only to stop him late. As great as Cotto is, he can't handle a one-dimensional aggressive style and Castillo was aggressive, active with an iron chin. If Cotto's counters eventually hurt, drop or back Castillo off then this is Cotto's fight all the way.

 

Cotto was a sucker for a uppercut, Castillo had a nasty one, IMO Castillo busts Cotto up forcing a late stoppage.

castillo was too small in my opinion, castillo wasnt big light weight he was simply a light weight, cotto was 147 fighter, even at 140 they were talking about what he can do in the future at 147, they even said quite alot that he was a future 147 fighter

 

I bet all those saying Castillo "was/is to small" for Cotto we're the same newbies saying the same thing about Pacquiao.

 

I am a fan of Castillo, but Hatton folded him in a few rounds.

Prime Cotto did not exist at 140. That's the one that was nearly KOd by both Corley and Torres.

Cotto's prime was probably his early welterweight days, from the Quintana fight to the early parts of the Margarito fight. Obliterated Quintana, outwilled Shane, annihilated Zab, ****ed Gomez up pretty badly, and was kicking Margarito's ass until that plaster hardened.

Castillo could have beaten Cotto at 140, but it would have had to have been before the Corrales fight. Diego took something from him.

 

BS. Cotto didn't out will Shane, he won the first 5 rounds Shane came on strong late and stunned him and we saw the emergence of his late round fade and running when he was hurt. At worse the fight should have been a drawn but I thought Shane won.

Zab was handling Cotto, until all the low blows, but what do you expect from Rican boxers, when they get hurt get ready for nut shots.

 

When Shane needed to win those last two rounds, he could not. :think But maybe "outwilled" was the wrong word, as Cotto was seemingly running away at certain points.

He whupped Judah's ass soundly, however. Zab never "handled" Cotto any more than he handled Tszyu. He landed a few nice punches, got frantically excited, and then settled down in preparation for a beating.
