The problem is Abril has way longer reach, so nothing to do with the jab there. Against Alvarado.... no idea why he didn't use it. :huh

His parrying and upper body movement was better in this fight than the last.

You don't get tired of saying dumb incorrect **** do you?

And Alvarado wasn't even moving all that well. All he did was move just enough to force the brawling idiot to reset before attacking. Rios had success when he jabbed his way in, but he's too stupid to be bothered into making a prolonged adjustment.

Alvarado could barely see, yet still controlled the ring and landed flush right hands whenever he got tired of moving.

Brandon Rios is a FNF level fighter with HBO heart and toughness.

Alvarado took Rios' jab away with overhand rights, he didn't just stop throwing it. Without the jab it's much harder to close the distance and set things up. Alvarado was constantly changing his look round to round, leaning on Rios and then backing up to throw before circling out. Rios isn't stupid, Alvarado is smart. You won't see fighters with that kind of skill on the inside and ring generalship on FNF. They are both championship level fighters.

Why do "fans" enjoy shitting on fighters for not being perfect? I'll never understand it.

Clearly you have fallen in love with Rios, all he has is good inside game and heart, I think it's a fact that the only think separating Rios from a bum, I'm sure you have never called a fighter shot, basic or a bum.

Yeah he just needs to fight smarter. He is the type who will take punches on purpose to prove he is a "warrior"

    Marquez is a smart warrior.

I don't really like Rios all that much. He's not in my favorite top ten fighters. I'm just tired of seeing offensive fighters disrespected. He's a solid fighter and he gets treated like trash just because people can't appreciate the subtle and impressive things fighters at that level can do. Everybody on this ****ing forum is called overrated and a bum and hype according to fickle armchair fans. If people want to ***** about boxing dying let's try fixing the fact that many fans can't appreciate opponents that don't suit their style or don't have ATG skills.

All he has is good inside game? That's not just one skill, that's a collection of skills. That's shoulder positioning, tight punching form, upper body movement, side-steps in the pocket, etc. Bums can't do that.

Fighters can be shot, fighters can be basic, but champions, even today's paper champions, are not bums, and I'll leave this forum if you can find a single post of me calling any world champion a bum.

he is not going to be a mover ever, so more than anything maybe work on his jab and keeping his hands up and staying busy. Fact is Alvarado fought a great fight and worked Brandon's body mroe than the first fight, which led to Mike landing more right hands. Brandon will look better with different guys, and then against guys like Broner he will look slow. Just a matter of who his opponents are. But he has to get a little better in his defense if he wants to beat the top level guys like Garcia or Khan.

 No need to fix what isn't broken. All you bums talking like Rios is done or on the down slide are just being stupid. Brandon will have a belt at 140 before the end of the year.

Just drill the jab into him and work off that ..He just relies on bull rushing too much ..He needs more of a strategic approach ..He should actually fight similar to Alvarado more of an in and out type of fighter ..

You must have been playing fight night champion. His face parry and walking into jabs not hardly fighting for rounds in the back 6 because Alvarado decides to use movement instead of standing right in front of him, or was it fatigue? What other **** you going invent? And he's punch drunk. His sharpness is declining. That's what happens when you take punch after punch. Pretty simple, doesn't need to be complicated like your female way of thinking over analyzing ****. That upper body movement and the Yankees, Ill tell you.
