Definitely agree it will be fought with patience at a methodical pace. But how would Danny, and orthodox fighter, throw a right hook over Zab's jab? :huh Unless you mean an overhand right. Judah's jab was tighter against Paris though.
That was a bad night for Zab. Staying low was the totally wrong way to fight, and sweet pea proved to be a terrible trainer. He should have came out guns blazing, would have given him a better chance.
great analysis.. impressive. I think he has a chance also if he stays focused and can avoid getting into exchanges. He has to always concentrate on where Danny's feet are and keep jabbing..
Bogo, I'm more worried about what Garcia is going to do in all honesty. He was a good amateur so he has seen a SP stance before. But who was the best SP he beat? I wonder who he is sparring with. Judah I just don't think will have a tight gameplan as he is largely an instinctive fighter. Seriously, he just doesn't have it mentally to keep to a strict gameplan when the stakes are the highest so I'm not really going to overanalyze Judah's past stuff. Judah's best chance is the exact same as the Cotto fight, wait for Garcia to come in and land the left hook in close. If Zab can get there before Garcia EARLY, he can win by getting danny's respect and fighting at zab's more "boxer like" pace I'm expecting lead rights and lefts to the head and body from Danny though, taking a late stoppage
Judah had an excellent gameplan against Paris and Lucas. Had a good gameplan against Clottey just quit when Clottey proved too big.
That's pretty much how I see it. I used the Paris fight because Zab fought a basic but effective game-plan against a stationary fighter who likes to counter with power punches and stuck with it the whole way through. He's unpredictable as hell so a victory for him has to be under a best-case scenario. Judah's right jab can invite Danny in and then he can set something up. But if he doesn't get Danny's respect early and catch him with something, then I agree with your assessment that lead rights and lefts to the body will make the difference. People rave about Garcia's left hook but his leaping rights are also effective, and against Judah's angle stance, will have more success. Like I said, there were moments in the Paris fight that he had success like this and won a round coming straight in on Judah with a straight right, and Judah seemed momentarily gunshy.
What gameplan against Lucas? Stand there and throw range finder jabs? Lucas just didn't do anything to force action, and danny starts faster, much faster than Lucas.
Zab's plan was to keep distance with the jab, never directly trade and walk Lucas into shots, but always be on the move and never sit right in front of him. He was able to do that and even restablish himself in the 11th and 12th to win the fight. Danny may start quicker, but he doesn't bring pressure like Lucas does now Lucas'spower.
Danny knows how to feint, dip in and launch a lead right which he hook around the guard really well or sink right into the bod. His right hand to the stomach of Khan is what hurt Khan right before he landed that monstrous lefthook. His right hand is also what first hurt Morales in the rematch. I see Danny controlling Judah with the jab, being very patient and rolling under Zabs shots, and making him very hesitant, pot shotting Zab. Judah will have to respond with more aggression and he'll begin to open up and we'll see Danny keep his coo using his defense, catch the shots on the arms, avoid trading and back to breaking him down. I doubt we see Danny exchange with Zab like he did Khan because Zab has real power and speed. I think we'll see him really turn it up around rd 6 and start punishing Judah. I dont think he'll try to take Zab out unless hes put him down a couple times and sees him rdy for the taking.
Zab isn't winning this fight, use whatever rationale that makes you happy, but Garcia is simply the better fighter.
Both got similar style. Paris is a waterdown version of Garcia with less ability. Garcia seem to be able to lead as well as counter. I'm curious to see what Garcia is going to bring to the table for Judah is more of a counter puncher these days. I'm curious to see who is going to lead. With that said. I'm expecting a competitive fight and not as the odds suggested.
Just looked up the reach differential, Judah has a 4 inch advantage on Judah. That should allow him to keep space and setup some traps for Danny trying to get inside. I'm sorry but I don't think Danny's right will be a big factor, I think Danny trying to land it will have him exposed for heavy counters trying to reach in.
