Helenius is ****ing done.. You stupid moron. He lost to Chisora.. who was brutally dominated by David Haye. Helenius vs Haye would be funny as ****. What's more glass? Vitali's heart or Helenius's hands?
Shame, the dude could've been a contender, but it oesn't look like he'll shake the injury bug long enough to develop that far. The Chisora war might've ruined him.
I think he should take a easy fight after the injury clears up and then go out on a payday against a Klit. He has injured himself in or even before every fight now since the Liakovich bout and it has shown to be a pattern, he since struggled or even lost to guys he should have putten away.
Yes, I do. A healthy Helenius is a good addition to a divison lacking talent. He's isn't afraid to take challenges, wich is VERY rare these days, and with his size and power he's a threat to a lot of fighters out there. The more dangerous HW's the marrier I'd say.
I don't rate him at all,he got a gift against Chisora and looked mediocre against an old Journeyman in Michael Sprott. If he was the dangerous fighter you say he is he should be knocking these guys out.
A voice of reason and kindness here. Injuries happen, and Helenius is just unfortunate enough to have had two bad ones back to back. It's frustrating for him and for those who follow him, but there are some real assholes on here who just seem to want to stick the boot in. If Helenius is that badly injury prone then it doesn't bode well for his future, but it's hardly fair to lay the blame at his door. The injuries are obviously real and curtailing his career, so unless the guy repeatedly punches brick walls as part of his training, it's ludicrous to think that he or anyone else wanted this to happen. As for those saying stick a fork in him, you may well turn out to be true. But would you be happy with that outcome? A healthy Helenius is a KO machine. Why would you want him out of the division?
Vitali got his ass kicked by Byrd (like Helenius by Chisora). Everyone wrote him off. A couple years he goes into retirement. Then he comes back at age 38 to grab a belt and win a number of fights. Helenius is just 29 for reference. To write him off at this point is ridiculous. It won't be easy but Helenius can achieve anything he wants to if he has the mental strength and his body holds up at some point.
Ko machine against who? His record is full of nobodies the best opponent he's faced is Chisora so what does that tell you
Helenius had so much power. And threw his punches like a madman through out the early stages of his career. I would say that his fists couldn't handle the training exercises. Way too much strength conditioning, and little work on punching technique.
I have a suggestion: Take two years off, get surgery, and in that two years, focus on cardio-vascular fitness. Those saying that he is "too old" are being ridiculous. A 6'6 1/2' fighter does not even reach physcial prime until 30. Let the hand really heel up good while taking care of the beer belly in the meantime. Come back when the Klits are long gone. Just a suggestion.
