    I know that Tyson was in Harry Reid's office trying to get the pardon.

    A great man once said to me that Johnson should NOT be pardoned. Let it stand, as a reminder of what the *******s did to him :good

    Under UK law an e petition with a given number of signitures whould force the issue to be debated in the House of Commons.

    Does a similar system exist in US law?

    I agree. It matters not what petition is signed.

    The President of the United States can pardon anyone. Many of the President's oldest political allies were products of the times ( 60's radicals, Nation of Islam types, Anti-American government in some cases, ect.. ). They will press for the pardon at the very end of his term.
