You saying fighters were "world rated" means nothing to nobody...

Joe fought Viet when he had done absolutely nothing in the sport and was mainly fighting 8-10 rounders in small German clubs, yet you say Froch wasn't a big enough name when he was British Champ, no.1 ranked and Joe's mandatory? GTFO.

I see Froch has the lead in the poll, interesting, matching them up win for win

    Calzaghe - Froch

    1. Hopkins - Bute
    2. Kessler - Pascal
    3. Eubank - Abraham
    4. Lacy - Dirrell
    5. Reid - Johnson
    6. Bika - Magee
    7. Mitchell - ?
    8. Woodhall - ?
    9. Brewer - ?
    10. Veit - ?

Who has the better record? I'd like see some arguments for and against both sides

Great post bailey, just the kind of debate I'm looking for in this thread. I notice of all those voting for Froch, not one has come forward to offer a counter, I wonder why :think Thanks for your post though mate :good

this isn't about who would win h2h ******s. It's about the resume. Froch has fought opponents in their primes. Same can't be said for Calzaghe.

what about Robin Reid? and Chris Eubank? and Veit? and Woodhall? most of Calzaghe's best wins just get discredited, I'm sorry but it's just too easy to make out the division was crap for 10 years while Calzaghe dominated it but now it's suddenly good again, and why even include Mack or a shot Johnson on Froch's resume if you're missing all of these names off Calzaghe's?

Yusaf Mack was IBF rated no.5 when he fought Froch last year. It that a good win for Froch.
Your circular debating of he beat A and he beat B and he beat C is nothing more than humour less trolling.

Fair play you said it, care to explain it? I'm not siding either way, just interested why people would choose Calzaghe over Froch and vice versa

End of the day people say this and that about Andre Dirrell n then say how **** Lacy was but was has Dirrell done what Lacy hasn't? Lacy had an amateur record of about 270-18 or something, went to the Olympics, won a world title and defended it a few times but since Calzaghe destroyed his confidence and motivation and he got a career ending shoulder injury in his next fight people make out like he is a bum and only judge him by his post Calzaghe record yet somehow Andre Dirrell is a super star because he has 1 good DQ win.

Woodhall had lost his title and was at the end of his career when he fought Joe....Ried was a good fighter and deserved the win. If Ried hadn't of been deducted a point , Joe would of lost. Lucky for Joe, W arren was looking after him.
