I requested clarification on their position regarding options in writing to our fax number, but received nothing. The lack of response suggests there is an issue, but this would appear to contradict Frank ******s comments in the Guardian yesterday. At this moment, their stance on options is still unclear to me.
again Henessy said they would except no options at all. A ridiculous demand. Funny how Froch was willing to sign away against Bute though.

Why is it a bad win if someone chooses to retire after a loss? Was Spinks a bad win for Tyson? If abraham had of retired after the Froch fight, would that have been a bad win? No Reid would not have won even if the point deduction hadnt of happened. You really dont have a clue Dino and should stop posting about what you dont know. I notice you ducked my questions again A good thing to remember is that Calzaghe had to fight the winner of Sheika/Johnson and Sheika beat Johnson. So people should explain how Froch beating old faded, boiled down Johnson who wasnt very good at SMW is a good win for Froch, when Calzaghe had to fight Sheika who was coming off a win over prime G Johnson --------------------------------------------------------------------- This content is protected Can someone explain how Pascal, Dirrell, Taylor, Johnson, Mack are good SMW wins? They havent done anything at the weight. Nothing. Abraham isnt a top SMW either. I thought he lost the first fight to Steiglitz and then did lose the return and how many posts were on ESB saying Steiglitz was the worst champ etc. Many on here even said Bute was a fighter that never did anything and never stepped up and not a top champ. I actually think Frochs win over Bute was excellent, but just look at how people have changed their posting to suit. As said Bute was a top win and the first SMW champ that Froch beat, before that it was vacant titles. Now tell me how Pascal, Dirrell, Taylor, Johnson, Abraham, Mack are good SMW wins? Except for Abraham having a disputed and hard fought win over a fighter that many called the worst champ, The others havent done anything at the weight. Nothing. Remember how Sheika beat prime SMW Johnson to get a shot at the champ Calzaghe, which shows how the division has got weaker when in order for Froch to get a shot at champ Ward, he had to fight old, boiled down, past best Johnson that Sheika beat when prime. Thats should say everything Someone explain how the fighters listed are a better win than Reid, Woodhall, Veit 2, Lacy, Kessler, Eubank, Mitchell
Thats the thing in the UK, if you are a casual boxing fan you tend to follow fighters from other countries and all over the world. I have often felt when having conversations on here that alot of American fans only tend to follow foreign fighters if they either fight in America or if there is an American fighter in a certain division and the foreign fighter could be a competitor. With what you have said in mind, it really is a situation where many on here couldnt give a sensible debate because if you dont know Calzaghe, you wouldnt know alot of the opponents as I dont think too many American fans followed the SMW division much between Jones leaving and Lacy appearing, but the division was very good in that time with big fights. I guess an example was like the Wlad/Haye fight which was massive in Germany but wouldnt have too much interest in America
Bailey the serial ducker just like his idol. WBO Rankings 2007 JOE CALZAGHE (Sup Champ) GB 1 1. Denis Inkin RUS 2 2. Lucian Bute (Int-Cont) ROM 3 3. Carl Froch GB 4 4. Jeff Lacy USA 5 5. Peter Manfredo, Jr. USA 6 6. Cristian Sanavia ITA 7 7. Juergen Braehmer DEU 8 8. Jean Pascal (NABO) CAN 9 9. Victor Oganov RUS 10 10. Robert Stieglitz Why was he defending against a guy from a TV show and not against the no.2 of the division- iBute?
Ried landed at will against Joe and was a **** hair away from the win. The point deduction robbed him. Froch would have walked through him. Froch knew it, Joe knew it an FW knew it.............Froch blew Ried away in 5 rounds.
SMW division didnt have much impact over here for a long time because it was a predominantly european division i'm a big fan of calzaghe's ability, probably because i spent some good time in europe, but his 'lack of a name' over here had everything to do with his association with war*en - that should be undeniable i dont think anyone on here should can you for wanting to defend calzaghe against criticism - he was an excellent fighter - and too good to waste away in europe, meaning that he deserved a bigger international profile but the way you do it, bailey, pretty much condemns how some people on here will view him i've tried talking to you about 'impotent' paper titles and ring magazine ratings when you defend calzaghe, but you're so intent on keeping him within a 'golden halo' that it becomes impossible to talk to you seriously about him if you cant concede the mistakes he made on his career path, and the illegitimacy of surrounding him with 'all those world titles' and your constant need to build up fighters who were never that good and also didnt cross the pond and prove themselves when it mattered, then there's no point debating with you, because there is no debate i cant understand how you havent 'evolved' and conceded some points over the past year or two. it seems more important to you to win fictional brownie points online than to have the respect of people who can challenge your point of view and vise versa you need to drop the 'calzaghe fan club one way street' routine
Froch's best wins: Kessler, Pascal, Bute, Dirrell, Abraham, Taylor Calzaghe's best wins: Hopkins, Kessler, Eubank, Reid, Bika, Lacy Calzaghe still has the better resume, and here's why: Hopkins (vs Calzaghe) > Kessler (vs Froch 2) Kessler (vs Calzaghe) = Pascal (vs Froch) Eubank > Taylor (Eubank never lost badly) Lacy = Bute (2 hype jobs who never beat a great fighter) Reid = Dirrell (Calzaghe and Froch arguably lost to these guys) Bika = Abraham (good fighters who never made it to the top) I think when Froch retires, he will have a better resume than Calslappy. But for now, even if Froch beats Kessler, Calslappy has a slightly better resume. Froch should fight Sakio Bika.:bbb
No basically you came up with some complete gibberish that Calzaghe moved up in weight to avoid Froch and then when you got proven completely wrong couldn't except it. For me Calzaghe's resume is over looked and there is way too much favouritism regarding how you look at wins. A problem Calzaghe had as well was getting fights, Froch has never had that problem. People like Steve Collins, Ronald Wright, Jermain Taylor, Bernard Hopkins and even Carl Froch have refused good offers or avoided mandatory fights with Calzaghe and Robin Reid wanted nothing to do with Calzaghe when he had the WBC belt it was only when he lost he gave him a look in so Calzaghe could have had two belts and been a bigger draw for longer. The only person I'd make a clear favourite over Calzaghe from that era is Roy Jones Jr but people forget that he was a steroid abuser. Who knows if Calzaghe had have fought all of them on top of who he already fought he may have lost 1 or 2 but for me he beats any of them on a good night and it certainly wasn't his fault for those fights not happening. You can't have it both ways. Only way I could see him losing to any of them is if he broke his hand early in the fight other than Roy Jones. Calzaghe beat about 10 world champions and was at the top of the division for 10 years beating good european fighters but aparently that whole era was crap, then as soon as 1 or 2 American's come along and showtime hype up a tournament the division becomes great again? sorry too convenient that.
Right your saying this but Reid was a much more accomplished fighter than Andre Dirrell and you could say the same about his fight vs Froch because a lot of people thought Dirrell won that. Reid was a former WBC champion and for the vast majority was robbed against Ottke after he faced Calzaghe so you could argue he deserved to be a 2 time champion. Dirrell will never achieve that in my opinion, I doubt he'll even win the title once.
Tell me why you think Froch accepted so many options on the Bute fight but would except none on the Calzaghe fight. Bute can still trigger the rematch clause. http://www1.skysports.com/boxing/ne...ght-as-Carl-Froch-ahead-of-a-possible-rematch
