Golovkin (#3) vs. Macklin (#5) - Decent challenge for Golovkin?

Macklin is a good contender, but he is not on P4P level, he is just a "maybe one day i will win an interim or vacant alphabet tittle" boy.

At least he is a 160 fighters and they will put a good fight.

How about 25th of june, Germany 2011. Ring a bell,he went into Sturms backyard beat him & got robbed.In my eyes he's already a world champ,& not a paper one avoiding all good fighters but fighting everybody.Sturm,Martinez,Golovkin in last 3/4 fights.He beat one & gave the other top p4p fighter all he can handle.Great fight if it's really close to being official.

 

This is a brilliant fight, don't expect Macklin to win but he will push Golovkin, I rate Barkers chances of beating Golovkin higher.

 

Its a great fight on paper. Macklin is a top rate MW who got robbed versus sturm and put down Sergio and fought a good fight. So, it will be a very good measure of GGG. If GGG is all many think he is - i.e. a potentially great MW - then his performance against Macklin should be telling, either way. I look forward to it as it will be a very tough fight and potential FOY.

 

This guy is tailor made for GGG and I will not believe it is happening until the last 'i's" are dotted and "t's" are crossed.

 

Of course you do. In all truth those 3 British middleweights are essentially interchangeable flotsam. Why do you think Martinez has been tripping over himself to cash in on all of them?
