Statistically speaking, is Mayweather the boxer most closest to perfection?

Tim Bradley, Marquez rematch even Thurman would at least bring some interest. He signed to fight Guerrero on the night he beat Berto. I knew that night Floyd would want to fight him. And fighting Ortiz was a similar pick, when he was not fighting Manny. The fact he did not fight Manny for 3 or 4 years when he could have and turned down a superfight against a multiweight titlist negates almost anything he does now. And it was not Manny who didn't want the fight. Floyd put up obstacles and played games so making the fight was almost too much.

 

Lol ya blame it on a 'weak era' and Floyd hasn't even fought all the top guys of his era.

Nobody fights all the top guys. Yet he's fought most of them and is 43-0 and has 20+ championship fights

This is a weak era. A defensive sieve for instance in Pacquiao who who laid out by a 40 year old lightweight was a dominate welter for awhile. No way a fighter of Pacquiaos caliber is successful in a strong welter era

 

He avoided some of the toughest / biggest fights of his career, which is well known and a huge blemish on his legacy.

Paquiiao's calibar? Pacquiao is already rated a greater fighter then Floyd. Being KO'd at the end of his career doesn't change that.

If this a weak era what does that say about Floyd who avoided the best fighters of his era.

There are flaws in boxing stats. Mostly they are compioed by people ringside. As good of a view that one might have ringside, they will still miss some punches. Short of sensors on the gloves. There is no way to be 100% accurate.

The other issue is that keeping stats is a relatively new thing.

 

Why do people insist that a fighter who's average career official fight weight was 130 lbs. has to fight the best 154 lb. guys out there.

Yes as he aged he filled into 147 lbs., but that is his limit ie; beyond his optimum performance weight.

Mayweather is at the end of his career likely and anything else he does is just icing on the cake.

To clarify a bit. I'm not necessarily thinking of attributes as compared with other boxers or even things like accuracy %. I was thinking more along the lines of the minimum amount of negative incursions (if that makes sense?). So have there been other boxers who were not only undefeated but who never got knocked down or even hurt that much?
