Mayweather Taking a Less Aggressive Approach For Guerrero?

He mentioned his daddy being back in his corner for this upcoming fight and brings up Sr's deeply rooted hit and not get hit belief.

How will it look if Mayweather doesn't do his standard walk down southpaws procedure? Instead, he'll let the lefty come towards him as he often does with orthies.

 

If he starts relying on more slipping and dodging at this point in his career....it wont be long till he gets put to sleep

 

I really dont think there is any advantage to letting a southpaw come to you. Thats what they are good at, controlling the distance and getting off first, controlling the pace. Imo, it would be a mistake to let Guerrero come forward, esp since Robert is know for his high punch output and Floyd not so much. That would make it very difficult to win rds decisively imho.

 

I think Mayweather is gonna fight going backwards but slowly kinda like the Cotto fight but hes gonna unload some big punches on Guerrero, he's gonna put the hurt on Guerrero there's no need for him to be less aggressive Guerrero isnt really a threat

The few training clips I've seen suggest training for offense. He's very thick around the middle and is throwing with intention (although to be fair he always does.) He might switch between the two modes out of respect for Guerrero's physicality like he did with Ortiz.

 

Expect the lead straight right hand to tattoo guerreros face all night long.

 

Quite the opposite. And with it being at his more comfortable welterweight, i see this being the most aggressive Mayweather we have seen since the Gatti fight.

 

He did get hit less when his dad was in his corner .

 

Actually, a southpaw coming forward takes a lot of the advantage off of being left handed.

I think his defense will be sharp as ever.....but I think he is going to be very aggressive....when you consider Guerrero cannot out box Floyd and will NEED to come forward expect aggressiveness.

Besides it's a misconception (or stupidity) to think Floyd isn't aggressive.

If Floyd is on the back foot, that's a less aggressive approach

 

What makes you think he will be on his back foot?

The last time he did that was against Hatton....he will stand and do his version of trading and walk Guerrero down when the opportunity presents itself.

He didn't fight on the back foot vs the bigger stronger Cotto, he won't do it vs Guerrero.
