Far from being a blotch, the Peter victory greatly enhanced wlads reputation because he overcame adversity for the first time in his career. He showed he can come back from a knockdown. When that was coupled with his destruction of Byrd his number 1 spot was consensus.

Walcott was a better fighter relative to size I probably have him number 4 cw whereas wlad is about number 12 hw for me. But all things considered in the hw division wlad is a greater fighter and a better fighter.

Noone is doubting that Tyson ranks above vitali though it was a pointless comment.

A very average HW who took him the full 12 rounds and was shots to bits in the rematch and only got the fight due to Vitali quitting on his stool.

Wlad was staggering from post to post like a zombie. He took a beatdown, weather you want to accept it or not is a different mater.
Taylor was beating Froch most of the fight and lost in the 12th by way of brutal beatdown.

Peter showed he wasn't good enough to dominate a truly terrible contender.

 

Yes the stoppage was by way of beating, that's what usually happens when a man is stopped on his feet.

You can rate Byrd and Peter however you choose but there's no denying Wlad got huge credit for those two victories and that was when people began to believe he would surpass big bro.

Noone is holding wlad's resume in particularly high regard. The people who rate wlad highly are those who appreciate the ranking of the guys he beat and appreciate the amount of time he has spent as the number 1.

if that is not something you value particularly highly then that is fine. Boxing is a subjective sport after all.
