He's there to build a new market. 300 million viewers means he's not leaving China any time soon.

Made in china boxer compared to an authentic made in the philippines boxer. im just makinga snide trolling comment about the dude. i never seen him fight.

 

I wasn't impressed. He will probably be fed a bunch of no-hopers in China finally step up and get KTFO.

 

That kid who beat Viloria was something else...never seen him before but he had incredible body work going for him. And he was throwing those things with a TON of torque. He really got some leverage going in on Brian's midsection that had me cringing. I think Zou has potential. Not really sold on him yet as a Pro but his AM experience would have been an asset in his Pro career if he were younger.....Right now because of his age his handlers are looking at pushing him rather quickly. It's not easy to shed some old habits no matter what realm we are talking about....but in boxing sometimes those AM habits become a major liability.

I think Roach is perfect for Zou to help him work on his power....he's got the speed but I think Freddie will help him work on sitting down on his shots, turning them over and getting in the right positions to delivery punches with more leverage.

 

Kessler, Hopkins, Roy Jones Junior, winning WBA and WBC titles. I think Calzaghe did alright for himself after his hand injury took away his power. Shiming's lack of power doesn't necessarily mean he has no future.

 

You're probably right John.....Let's see how this unfolds because it will happen rather quickly with how his handlers are talking. He's gonna have to step up and face legit opposition faster than the average "young" highly decorated boxer.

 

What does that even mean? Punching power isn't something you have or you don't, you get a certain amount of torque on your punches due to a number of factors and the damage it does is relative to what the opponent can take/if he sees the punches or not. Power is obviously on a scale, it's not something you have none of or you have all of. It can be increased or decreased due to a number of reasons.

I have to say I enjoyed his performance and I don't know why people are so down on him. He obviously has some skills and athletic talent, and he has a smile on his face throughout the whole fight. It's likely that he's not going to be an atg but he's fun to watch.

 

What he means is there are some naturally heavy handed fighters who don't need a lot of technique to put a guy to sleep vs really polished fighters who sometimes get the occasional KO by finding the perfect opportunity to land a well placed shot. Some punchers are born......Some "Punchers" are made through having a great technical foundation and understanding of timing and leverage....but most of the time you either are or are NOT a puncher. Take Floyd for instance.....he's got a great understanding of the sweet science...he has perfect technique and impeccable timing, but he's not a power puncher...he's not a heavy handed fighter and never will be. Big George is a naturally heavy handed fighter who could knock you out with a jab.

 

I like his movement and the confidence. Not much power, but so was Calderon and he was pretty successful. Althought Zou needs to prove his stamina with his fighting style.
