Without giving it much thought I will pick Khan in this possible future matchup. Obviously Khan can get nailed by a big left but his speed could give Ortiz problems and cause him to get frustrated and wild, leading to some low blows/fouling and some point deductions. Khan UD.
I think Vic is able to get close enough to bang him out. He dealt with Berto's handspeed and should know that a good shot can change the fight.
Ortiz doesn't have a lot of heart. He quit against Maidana because of a cut and quit against Lopez when there was only 3 rounds left.
I hate reading people trash on Ortiz for the Josesito fight. His jaw was visibly messed up, and X rays show that it was in fact severed in two. Something that serious, come on now. He was right to quit. As for the Maidana fight, it wasn't from a cut but from him getting the **** beat out of him. He was getting beaten badly. This is boxing. I have nothing against anyone who quits or retires for whatever reasons. If you've ever trained/sparred/fought even just once you will know that him quitting in that particular fight is totally understandable. Much smarter than staying in the fight only to get knocked out cold.
he was swallowing a lot of his own blood. he had no chance of winning with his jaw in the condition that it was in. there are different levels of fractures and victors was severe(the whole mandible was entirely broken). he had no other choice not to continue.
If the jaw was that bad then my mistake. In the Maidana fight his whole face was clean and the fight wasn't one sided at all and his face was clean until he suffered one cut in the fifth. And then he quits in the sixth.
Yeah, Maidana was a quit job. But still, I think he takes too much for that. It's not as though those 6 rounds were a pugilistic display. They were teeing off on each other with monstrous bombs. If he didn't quit, he would have been knocked out cold in my opinion and would have regretted not quitting. But yeah, Ortiz's jaw literally was snapped into two pieces. Ortiz is too big, and too heavy for Khan. He's not flat footed, and only gets discouraged when he can't hurt his opponent, which isn't the case here. Ortiz KO
