Damien Hooper will make his long awaited pro debut infront of Ricky Hatton on April 20 in Brisbane,v Garth Murray Live on Eurosport.
dont think hooper will have any dramas there. I lived in townsville a few years back when i had a job up there and seen a young mark flannagan who was 17 or 18 and yet to turn pro , drop murry a couple of times and have to go easy on him in spar they had on a pro show up there .
He wil be a good domestic fighter and padded with nobodies to get a ranking, with his shitty attitude he wil get knocked the **** out when he steps up, like the majority of our Aus prospects.
Hooper is potentially the best Aus prospect we have,as long as he keeps his eye on the ball,he will be a super star!
Brad Hore fights for Aust Bantamweight title after only 2 fights ,a huge step but possibly the fight of the night.peopke say Hore is Australias most exciting little man!
Good little fighter. They will need to bring in some good fighters from South America and Asia to bring him along as he progresses because there is no one here in those lighter weights
Brad was a great amateur, no doubt about that. I remember at one stage around 2004 he was boxing that well at 51kg that he was dominating the best 54kg in Australia and probably on Dib and Langham would of beaten him at 57kg. However that was 9 years ago and to be honest Brad isn't at that standard anymore. He's a great boxer, but not a big puncher, is small for a bantam and in all honesty he was better suited to the amateurs with his style. He should have no worries winning an Aussie title, but in all honesty he's not going to be at the level to fight for world titles or win a regional, something like a PABA title. I wish him all the best for his upcoming fight and he's done enough for boxing in Australia to deserve to at least win an Aussie pro title. I would like to see him fight Mundraby later this year though as I feel the winner if that would be our best little man and give an indication to his camp of where he is really at.
Brad is an amazing little fighter, definately not a puncher but brings huge excitement with his attitude and showmanship.
Paddy Murphy has also a chance to show Ricky Hatton what he can do for a second time when he defends his qld title on the line to challenger Jezze Carassco.Murphy was the victim of a rough decision (draw in hong kong in december) when the chinese judge gave his chinese boxer 5 rnds out of 6.
Mundine was a committed pro, lived a healthy life style never got into ****, he was just super confident... Comparing that to someone who has been in trouble with the law, kicked out of Com games etc is a ridiculous statement.
Yea me too!! Regardless of past indiscretions he is an exciting prospect and i for one will be there to watch it!! Any one else in Brisbane heading down?? Looks like a pretty good card
