    Honeyghan fought Breland and Blocker.

How good was Fidel Bassa, his fights against McAuley were brilliant.

You sometimes think we are unlucky not to get some of the big fighters come to these shores but some of these lists prove us wrong. You have to think however there havent been too many in the last 20 years or so.

We had some great fighters fight here for genuine world titles in the Solomons/Duff era

Other notable names include Tony Janiro, Dado Marino, Joey Maxim, Duiloi Loi, Billy Graham, Jimmy Carter, Willie Pastrano, Joe Frazier, Edwin Rosario, Frankie Randall, Brian Mitchell and Orlando Canizales.

Regarding the lack of recent quality imports; it is one of the reasons why I can't blame terrestrial tv for not showing much interest these days. The alphabets have made it easier to look for a boxers to look for 'soft option' champions and defences. People like VVarren have exploted it to the max.. His first year of promoting world titles fight was 1985 when he brought over Don Curry, Sot Chitalada, Azumah Nelson and Tim Witherspoon. For whatever reasons I doubt he's come near to matching that in the 28 years since.

Willie Pastrano fought and was beaten by a guy I knows dad at the Kelvin Hall (Chic Calderwood).

Jerry Quarry fought Jack Bodell here as well I'm sure.

Sergio Martinez deserves a mention if he hasn't had one already.

    Sexy Serg

He fought a couple of times in the UK didn't he?

His fight with Richard Williams was a good one.

Yeah, great, great fighter. One of my favourites, the way he got off the deck to war Chavez Jr. was thrilling to watch.

Lacy, Sharmba Mitchell, Billy Dib, Adamek and Paulie all fought on Hatton undercards. Only Paulie and Mitchell weren't prospects though.
