I give Joe the edge here, but by all means this would not be an easy fight for either guys, but I see it being a great fight with Frazier ending Bowe around the 10th or 12th..

    I say Bowe by decision.
Too hard of a jab and too big.
His uppercuts would really do the most damage to Frazier though.

    I like Bowe by stoppage.

He was probably the only tall heavyweight {6-5} who could fight on the inside with Frazier. Bowe had a great uppercut and he mixed in his hooks in combination. Couple that with his size and the huge strength and weight advantage I think its too much for Joe to overcome.

On the outside Riddick Bowe could use his jab and have it his way as well. Bowe just too big, too skilled and too strong for Frazier. Joe would land some hooks but I don't think he would score the kind of clean combinations that Bowe would.

I think Bowe knocks out Frazier. Joe weighed about 207 and was 5-11 right? Bowe was like 240 and 6-5 right? I think Bowe stops him in about 6.

Bowe knocks him out. He'll eagerly greet Joe in the centre of the ring ring and proceed to push his **** in.

I wouldn't go that far.Frazier would probably hold his own and give a hell of an effort, but imposing yourself on and breaking down a much heavier man is a lot more difficult when that lump is actually very good at fighting at your best range.

Never thought highly of Bowe as an outside boxer, personally. If it wasn't for his abilities at close quarters, I'd favour Frazier in a heartbeat.

I think theres a certain degree of uncertainty in this one. While Bowe obviously has the height and reach advantage he rarely used it. This also gives Joe a big target to aim at in terms of body shots and Bowe in general was quite an open target. I'd give Joe the edge in terms of defensive abilities and his constant bobbing and weaving would unsettle Bowe's jab and he'd rarely land with it. I think the majority of the fight would be on the inside, but I just can't pick a winner. I'd wager a war with both men coming close to being stopped on their feet at multiple points in the contest, but see it out to the final bell with it too close to call on the scorecards.

Not a single guy mentions Frazier's speed advantage yet Bowe's height and reach advantage (which he didn't use) is mentioned several times tsk tsk. Bowe would welcome inside exchanges to his detriment, I think Frazier will systematically destroy the far too easy to hit and far too willing to slug Bowe and basically outhustle him on the inside being more busy, landing more often and making Bowe miss alot.

This is what a prime Frazier fought like, constantly bobbing and weaving constantly throwing punches and constantly applying pressure. Sharp, fast and accurate.

Who exactly did Bowe stop within 6 to make you think he'd be able to do it to Frazier?

old Dokes Holyfield was badly hurt,Gonzaled. I am not saying that Gonzales and Dokes are at Frazier's level, but Dokes and Gonzales were big, and Evander was decent size, and yet he was considered small for Bowe. I just think a guy 207 pounds with no reverse gear moving forward against a guy with the left hook power of Bowe-coupled with the fact Bowe was a big guy who fought Big. Bowe could punch with that left hook. Frazier is just too small. Even Bert Cooper who was a 190 pound guy, yet with some of the smokin Joe style was stopped by Bowe. If I remember correctly. That was on one of the undercard fights in 1989 or something.

There seems to be this idea that Frazier is not on the level of Bowe. I am looking up and down the resume of Bowe and I see nothing but guys that Tyson KO'ed years earlier and Holyfield...and Golota.

I look at Frazier's record and see KO's over Quarry, Mathis, Ellis, Foster, a beating handed out to a Muhammad Ali, and the Thriller in Manilla.

I know that Foreman destroyed Frazier and OK, but just looking at the records I can tell you that Bowe ain't seen nothing like Frazier, or Ali, or Foreman. He has seen Holyfield, a former Crusierweight and that is about it. That he went to the gates with Holyfield each time should tell one that Frazier is going to take Bowe there and open the gate and drag him in.

Give me Fraizer from the first Ali on points against Bowe from the first Holyfield fight.

Dokes and Gonzales...that right there proves my point. The greatest KO victory Bowe ever got was against a war ravaged, zombified Holyfield who actually very nearly KO'd Bowe while being out on his feet. This goes back to my point about Bowe being easy to hit and too eager to slug, Holyfield managed this despite being a relativley small Heavyweight. Also what do you mean by the left hook power of Bowe? I've never considered him a power puncher and havn't heard anyone on here refer to him as one?

Simply take a look at Cooper's record and you'll see the type of man you're dealing with. Some nights he was almost a world beater other nights he was getting KO'd by bums no one has heard of before or since. A very silly comparison. Cooper was nothing when compared to Frazier, see the footage I posted to see how good Frazier was.
