fan of both. i cant wait for this.

Donaire has been outboxed and lost rounds to much lesser fighters/boxers than Rigondeux, so i expect this to be tough.

    Should be a great match

Pretty much. Cuban amateurs do that as well as spinning around in circles then shadow boxing, to mimic punching back when dazed (see Rigo maintaining his composure and punching back against Marroquin straight away).
Personally I'd prefer to see Rigo building his neck and traps to help prevent him getting dazed in the first place. Rigo has a slim neck, if I was sure Rigo could take a good shot I'd pick him over Donaire everyday.

Absolute 100% BS. Maybe if you weigh yourself fully clothed and fed, train your ass off to sweat puddles, don't rehydrate at any point, then take a **** and weigh yourself naked. Even then it would be amazing/close to impossible to see 10 pounds difference. More than 5% body weight lost through dehydrating and all markers of performance are decreased, including cognitive performance. If you're doing that everyday I sure hope you don't have a taxing job or any responsibilities, because you'll be feeling like ****. As I said, you're talking 100% bull****.

Hot bath, sure, but the sauna is really a dumb thing to do. Turns your muscles into wet noodles.

Agility. Have to change direction quickly and be prepared to move in any direction and switch on a dime. If you've seen him fight, you've probably noticed how good he is at being agile in the ring.

    Plus it's cool.

He's talking nonsense. I've done 3-4hr sessions in the gym and come out about 4lb lighter. You simply don't lose 10lb in a workout unless you're working out in a sauna suit like a ******.

It never fails to amaze me when I see trainers bring in new and unconventional methods to train their fighters. I mean really what are them rolls and chasing balls around doing for Rigo.

What has he got out of them methods that he couldn't get from circuit training and pad work? All of the great fighters stick to traditional training methods that suit their style, work hard at it and master the techniques.

I don't buy into any of this stuff.

People have been doing the rolls and stuff for a while. Tszyu used to have a pretty elaborate routine involving a lot of that, and his training was pretty sound by all accounts. Pascal does the spinning and rolling as well. My trainers had us doing a lot of shadowboxing/burpees rounds. The whole point is to get you used to having your equilibrium/balance thrown off. It's apparently pretty effective if you look at what happens every time Rigo gets tagged.

Nothing new about these moves. It's for coordination, balance and reaction. The rolling imitates dizzyness which can be compared to getting hit by a punch but fighting through it.
Actually Nonito's the one using all the modern breathing masks and stuff.
