That sounds all good and stuff but going back to my original point, some fighters might find this stuff useful - but I have not seen any ATG's rolling around and jumping after balls. So in my opinion, I don't see and quoting the TS how this is an "epic workout" for a boxer.

I've been to a lot of gyms and seen a lot of different methods, been involved in boxing hands on for 7 years now training myself and others. In my opinion I don't believe this will help him when he gets his jaw tagged by Donaire at all. Or how reaching up into the air helps his hand to eye reflexes against a guy who is near enough exactly the same height.

P.S. If you live in the UK and want to come workout at one of the gyms I go to so you can experience a real circuit hit me up :good

Any of these guys rolling around and catching flying balls?

I've seen ATG's do stupid things in training as well. You train for a purpose, not because someone else is doing it or not. The GB boxing national team also play soccer/basketball in their training, motor skills are transferrable to all sports in certain aspects. Not to mention that if you just do traditional boxing training all the time there is a far greater chance of burnout. Open your mind up and educate yourself a bit, you're not going to achieve and advance anything if you just copy what somebody else is doing. If you understand the human body then you can get creative and find benefits in many activities, building upon tried and true principles. If you think circuit training is good idea for a fighter who has a fight coming up shortly then you still need to learn the basics. Circuit training is purely conditioning, and not intelligent conditioning at that.

Well then you can argue that playing frisbee is also great for boxing? Or water polo? Or breakdancing? Where does it end? You can argue any workout is transferrable to boxing in some way or another. I am opened minded to a variety of techniques - they just have to seem to be effective.

If rolling around and fighting air is what you think is an effective way to prepare to fight against Donaire when dazed, then all I have to say is fair enough, we will see how effective it is on fight night.

If you can't see why these are implemented, I don't know.

That ball technique is very common amongst Cuban fighters.
Not the first time ive seen it.

Why would it give any indication about how effective it is? So since every fighter who has been knocked out has performed traditional boxing training does that mean traditional boxing training doesn't work? If you understood a bit more you might see how certain things are effective, and how other things (I.e. circuit training just before a fight) are redundant.

Most normal people can do a forward roll, most normal people can catch a ball, but this is a tool used for conditioning (forward rolls are not as easy as you remember them as a kid, we use them for our boxers, forward and backward rolls) and replicating disorientation. The balls are implemented for speed of movement and hand-eye coordination.

Like I said, a normal person can do the above, but there is also a difference between being able to do it, and then implementing it to sharpen specific areas.

You completely miss the points I am making, try and focus on what I am actually saying, in fact, I will break it down for you.

    1) I do not see how rolling around and shadow boxing is good preparation for fighting whilst dazed. Furthermore, I do not recall seeing any footage or reading about any great fighters using these techniques - I am open to be educated here also so feel free to provide some footage/images.

    2) I do not see what catching balls that are thrown above your head will do for you that no other reflex activity could do.

So all in all, I do not consider this to be an "epic workout" for a boxer or anything I would incorporate into a training routine myself.

Try it, seriously. If not for the workout alone. You will become disorientated, you will feel the pace of forward rolling, then shadow box afterwards.

Like what other reflex activities? If it helps improve reflexes and hand-eye coordination (like other reflex activities), what is the issue?

Weird, I ckt training and run at least 10 miles a day and I'm nowhere near your weight loss.

Anyways on topic, Excited for this fight and we got more good ones coming...
I got Donaire on this one, not gonna be surprised though if Rigo takes the decision.
