Marquez is textbook. manny is crossing his feet every other second. Why is it Marquez is easy to knockdown while manny is quite difficult to knockdown?:think:huh
Styles and athleticism. Pacquiao has a very unorthodox style and has ridiculous balance despite having terrible "textbook" footwork. Marquez likes to bang and has ended up paying for it in numerous fights... though he recoups/learns very well. IMO Pacquiao gets away with a lot of things most fighters can't. This will only get worse with age.
Manny darts in and out, Marquez stays right in your face and uses a lot of subtle movements to minimize the input while maximizing output. He sets up perfect angles, but its a high risk strategy and it will get you tagged now and then. He also has more of a "cold chin" he usually gets dropped early but seems to be fine as the fight progresses.
Pacquiao's not that hard to knock down. Here he is being knocked down/nearly out/cross eyed by a jab. [yt]USAAFgxa-KY[/yt] Not hating on the little man, but facts are facts. Under the right circumstances, anyone can be badly hurt, by any punch. He's been in with some hard hitters, but when you're smaller and have a huge speed advantage against slower opponents, you aren't getting hit that much.
pac is mobile, athletic. jmm is old, smarter fighter, more laid back, a thinking fighter. u could throw a punch at pac, he either moves to the side, moves away or dodges it by ducking. marquez is more planted on his feet. he'll duck if u throw shots at his head by bending at his waist. manny just made a textbook mistake. never paw your jab at an opponent, esp as dangerous as jmm
I believe Pac gets away with more due to his speed. Most opponents aren't able to hit him with the shot that will put him down, although he has shown the ability to soak up a punch while off balance.
Marquez has to take more risks to bait an opponent for counters and isn't as fast on his feet, so he has to lean in with his upper body and sometimes oblige fighters on the inside before moving side to side on them. Also, Marquez can lead well, but at times he leaves his feet behind, Manny always steps into his punches and brings them with him as he darts forward into a combination.
Um chin maybe? What do you think. Marquez has always been vulnerable to knockdowns, but he's incredibly hard to finish. Pac has or had a rock solid chin and hes just extremely hard to put down because of that. ....atsch Ok when did this happen? Have you seen Pac knocked down by a punch like that since then? He's taken way bigger blows that have blindsided him or he's literally run into and stayed steady on his feet. Fighters punch resistance can improve with time and conditioning. Pacquiao doesnt get hit that much??? :blood:blood atsch
Reinforcing what I posted before, you're bound to get caught when trying to pull moves like this: This content is protected (Sorry for the blur but I'm not ****ing Tezel) Also Pac doesn't cross his feet that much.
