Jones greatest LHW? :rofl :rofl  don't make me laugh... For the most part he's beaten guys who are past their best, he has a FEW good wins. No way he's the #1, not even top 3.

Sure, sometimes I'll talk smack to the PRIDE nuthuggers. :conf

But I haven't said anything bad about Shogun or PRIDE here. I actually like Shogun, the only thing I have against him is his army of nuthuggers. Which has nothing to do with Shogun himself. And I haven't seen his PRIDE tournament win, which I know is the best Shogun.

So I don't even have an all-time LHW ranking, because I don't feel I've seen enough of Wandy and Shogun's fights yet. I rank Jones above Liddell H2H, and I can't rank PRIDE-era Wandy with ease because to me he looks roided out of his skull. Also I only know a handful of his opponents. But that's neither here nor there. :conf

I was simply reading some old threads, and it was interesting to me how less than three years ago, Jones wasn't even on the landscape when it came to these threads. He was just a promising young contender. It's interesting to see how quickly and authoritively Jones has rocketed into the upper echelons of LHW history. :good

Good post Haggis. I know youre not trolling - youre being trolled with the accusation youre trolling ;)

Regardless of where you rank him All Tam at the moment, is there any LHW in history youd fancy to beat him? Prime Shogun perhaps, but even he's not a confident bet

I can't see anyone being favoured over him. :conf

The guy is still raw as hell, but he has fought good opposition and destroyed them. Has he even spent one second on his back yet?

And how good would he have looked in PRIDE? A roided-up Jones who can ragdoll guys and then stomp them and kick them in the head and knee them in the head from top control? How brutal would that guy have looked. We know he's tough from the Vitor armbar, and we know he's got a mean streak already from those cheap push kicks to the knee he always throws. So I reckon he would have been right at home with the PRIDE ruleset. :yep

Jones would beat any of the new contenders at 205 with considerable ease, lets name names; Gustaffson, Davis, Glover and the likes.

Machida is still the legitimate #1 contender, by some way! Jones despatched him with a "STANDING GUILLOTINE"

Gegard Moussasi would be like a routine shoot boxing sparring session for Jones!

I dont disagree with what you are saying, I disagree with the blatant dismissal of a great fighter who's doping great things! Jones has not racked up enough wins against top guys to take the mantle of being the most accomplished LHW in history but he's not far off, another 18 months of doing what he's doing now and he'll be there.

Example, Cormier drops to 205 and Jones beats him (12 months from now possibly?), he's well on his way.

I do think a prime Shogun held / holds the keys to victory for beating a guy like Jones, active off his back, great butterfly with superior stand-up, capable of knocking Jones out with either hand.

Its by no means what so ever a foregone conclusion, in-fact a prime Shogun still goes in as an underdog, but he definitely had the tools

We'll never know. Since his knee was injured the first time he hasn't been the same. He goes into every fight with some kind of knee injury.
