Mayweather should have honored the weight that he signed to. At the same time Marquez could have hired a S&T coach like he did for Pac and fought at 147 no problem.
Wasn't Dwight Muhammad Qawi 200 lbs by the time he was 32 or so despite being shorter. Except Qawi had a very big build.
Doubt he could make 140lbs like people have been saying, especially at this stage. Just because he is close to weigh in weight already doesn't mean a great deal. He's a naturally lean person who doesn't carry much excess even in walk around weight. He would have to lose muscle if he were to make 140lbs, and that would be detrimental to his boxing career.
I highly doubt that, he walks around lean and weighs in lean. He'd be very uncomfortable IMO losing that much water. Training for Mosley I remember him being unable to urinate for hours because of the water he lost training. He's in peak shape at 147 already.
Froch walks around not far above his weigh in weight. Does that mean he can make 160lbs? Not everyone is the same. Just because some boxers can lose crazy amount of weight from their walk around weight to their weigh in weight, doesn't mean they all can. Both Froch and Mayweather are lean. Muscle would have to be lost.
He's definitely not a small welterweight, he's natural. The reason is that Floyd works out all year round (but doesn't test all year round), he's not like most boxers who don't really work out that much in between fights so his body fat is already consistently very low He would be draining himself to make 140
floyds a freak. probably functions daily at seven to eight percent bodyfat. most of the people here dont know anything about weight, muscle and bodyfat. victor ortiz 180 and floyd 150 is probably the same in muscle density. http://bodyspace.bodybuilding.com/permalink/progress-photo/XNickEdgeX/16022732 even though both these guys(victor ortiz) weigh the same and are roughy the same height they are two entirely different bodies. floyd is a solid welterweight.
