And that's the point, a lot of what he's got is genetics, natural so the hard work is maximising what he's already been given naturally So going back to the OP, it's not something that deserves special praise, considering what nature has dealt him to begin with and how much money he earns, for him to work out and stay in shape...like I said, too much nuthugging - he's a dedicated athlete, as are most athletes because that's how they make their living - when you're earning $40m for 1 night's work I would say it's not difficult to get motivated
I agree. The logic of him being able to make 140 just because other fighters do it, doesn't always work. Not everyone cuts weight the same. Some find it a lot easier than others. Floyd's probably someone who dislikes it. He was like this throughout his days in the lighter divisions, too. Rarely coming in above 3 or 4 pounds on fight night after weigh-ins. If he tried coming down to 140 he would a) not mentally be right, and b) be worse off physically from it. Are we forgetting that he didn't even wanna' come down to 144 for JMM? For some fighters, this works out great for them. They feel a lot stronger. Carl Froch is an example of someone who hits 168 miles before the fight. It provides a lot of benefits. Pacquiao realised this later on in his career, too.
agreed. and all that talk about how floys lost some 15 pounds of muscle in the two months that he was in jail just shows the guillibilty of the people on this forum. when youre making 40mm for one nights work because of your body then youre going to do whateve it takes to maintain that body. floyds at 7-8 percent bodyfat right now and victors probably at 20+. add 13 percent of 150 pounds and there is floyds 170 pounds. add the extra inch on the 5'9" victor and you get another 7 pounds. floyd is a solid welterweight.
2 things about the "15 lbs of muscle loss" 1.I dont believe he did lose that much. How could he lose that much from such a low base in 2 months??? Next to impossible unless he simply wasnt eating. 2. Even if he DID lose that much. If he lost it in 2 months, he could put it back just as quick when he got out. Its almost a year since he went to prison!

I don't get how he weights so little but never looks massively undersized in his fights. Even against ortiz he didn't look that much smaller than him and ortiz is a massive weight cutter. If he truly is walking around at this weight full hydrated (not after a massive training session) and fully fed he could easily make light welter no problem anyone can cut 8lbs water weight. I tend to take anything mayweather says with a pinch of salt because i think hes full of ****.
its nothing really impressive. he always is around that weight when he is not training. 147 is easy for him to make
like i previously mentioned, youre one of those people here that dont know anything about muscle density, bodyfat and how it pertains to weight-cutting. and you look pretty stupid here to anyone that does. for 40mm a fight, you can guarantee that floyd has already tried(simulation) to make the cut to 140 and came out of hard sparring of twelve rounds knowing that he is not 100 percent and that his body is better-equipped for 147 and 154. now about that equation i posted, do you have anything to refute it other than smiley emoticons? or are you just going to look stupid to everyone here.
Dehydrating has the advantage of being bigger. But the disadvantage is that you're dehydrating yourself, there will be less brain fluid in your brain which hurts your chin. It also affects other parts of your performance. It also shortens your longetivity because it strains your body. It's good that Floyd doesn't have to dehydrate, very professional athlete
