  3. A bunch of those were over in the first round as well. Hell, fight day for him was probably like a day off.

Think about this too. Cus D'Amato died Nov. 4, 1985.

And that's a big reason he was champ at such a young age. These younger fighters need to be more active nowadays

Think thats something that was still done 15 years ago.
Wlad did something simular... fought 3 times from November till december in 96 and then 13 times in 97.

Now you get a tv contract if you were a good amateur and fight 2 a 3 times a year from the get go....

And he won impressively each time. Contrast that to convicted steroids cheat James Toney, who's fanboys try to make out that his embarrassing defeats to the likes of Tiberi and Thadzi at his peak were due to him being 'too active', when the reality is he just got beaten up and shown up

Impressive quantity of fights. Most were an easy night's work, but it kept him in the gym steadily honing his craft.

I always thought if you start boxing late just go and fight regularly, your not learning too much from the actual fights but you can be learning from hard sparring, so you'll end up having over 20+ fights in a few years but learning from sparring so consistently

and wins the heavyweight belt in his second year of turning pro.

    March 1985-November 1986, 28 fights.

Thats crazy. If I ever turn pro Im thinking of doing this to get a belt fast.

Notice that he fights 13 times in 1986 and has only 4 fights in 1987. When you become champion you can take less fights and he achieves success, now he can somewhat relax.

  14. Yeah, losses don't kill careers, inactivity does
