When there's only one bidder and that bidder knows he's the only game in town, he's not going to bid against himself. I guarantee you at some point Oscar will come to Showtime with a fight he feels is worth more than Showtime offers.
Really? i've rarely said anything about TR or Arum since you joined, so how can you even say this? :think Why do you act like you know so much about me? Trying to post about some racist **** you think I've said, when I don't even tolerate thaT crap. So, why is that? :huh
showtime has all the newer big names, who is to say other promoters wont work with gbp? its hbo not working with GBP, not all of boxing
They've hurt the negotiating power they had, as they can't tell Showtime they're taking the fight to HBO if Showtime doesn't offer what they feel the card is worth. But other than that I think they're good.. Both channels have good fighters, as both big promotional companies have good fighters. Only time it'll suck for us is when they both put on a match-up at the same time to compete.
If you are the seller, you want to have as many customers as you can... The bigger the market, the better... GBP is a seller and HBO, a customer cutting them off is bad for them...
i HIGHLY doubt Kell Brook would turn down a mayweather fight just because its not on HBO, and i feel well see that in the fall
fishy how mayweather had a showtime crew before his last cotto fight...something was definately stirring up
:deal I don't get why people don't understand this. I don't want to get one offer on a house, I want as many people as possible bidding and knowing that other people are bidding. It drives the price up.
