Matthysse simple wants to absolutely guarantee he gets his hands on Garcia, he's the real champ and one of the biggest money fights.

It is at 141. Matthysse didnt want to give up his wretched WBC interim title. IBF, obviously, is not going to allow its title to be unified with an interim title. That makes sense. Peterson, OBVIOUSLY, wasnt going to give up his IBF title to fight for a crappy interim belt. Schaefer didnt' give a damn, just wanted to get the fight on, so they did it at 141 with neither title.

(Schaefer doesnt promote Judah but could easily make a deal.) So it makes no sense for Matthysse to be worried about an interim belt. Furthermore, if he were to lose to Peterson or win and still be Garcia's mandatory and the fight went to a purse bid his percentage is less than what he would get as an equal titleholder in a negotiated deal. Whole thing is just stupid but still a good fight.

 

Matthysse was promised a fight with the winner of Garcia/Judah fight, but someone is trying to keep Matthysse away from Garcia. Peterson did not win the belt, he cheated, not just the ref, judges, hometown crap, but with roids. He should have been stripped. They will try to cheat Matthysse if they can, just like they did when Matthysse beat the crap out of Judah and Alexander, hometown split decisions. Garcia will knock Judah out. Matthysse will knock Garcia out, but they will never allow Matthysse to fight Garcia................

The vast majority of fans had Matthysse winning that fight. Judah was out, had lots of help from his personal referee and judges. Split decision my arse.

I think Lucas giving up the WBC title would **** up this unofficial tournament, as you can bet some shitty fighter would pick it up and Garcia will be forced to defend it against him.

The only thing I disagree with is that I don't believe Matthysse is scared of losing to PEDerson. I think GBP have encouraged him to keep his precious interim belt lol instead of going for the IBF. Because if Matthysse was to win they'd rather have him go into the Garcia fight empty handed, and keep that IBF back there with PEDerson. Having world titles spread out in your stable gives you more control over the division.
