Obviously because he was a 135/140lb fighter - who had leverage as the main draw - and so could get an advantage to help balance his disadvantages. Nothing more, nothing less to it.

you only joined here on may 2012, so you probably weren't aware. But the general consensus was 145 was a fair weight to fight at, considering manny was thought of as a small light welter at the time.
And most people on here though cotto would destroy him at 145. Even after the fight, it was nothing but props to manny on here. Cotto also looked strong and focused.

You only joined may 2012 so your revision of history is forgiven.

Now **** Off Larry and stop making threads abour Manny and Floyd

Because everything manny has done since 2009 has been hypejob smoke and mirrors and riding Floyd's coattails.

False. Arum lied to the media, again. Koncz even said they wanted 148 for Pac but maybe would've taken 150...which was never offered.

His 145 catchweight with Cotto was totally unnecessary.

lol outside your family, who cares what your dad thinks? Manny has had 2 catchweight fights out of 55+, in 7 different weight divisions. Boo Hoo. I'll pass you a tissue, or maybe the whole box for your whiney ass.

nonito vs rigo was pretty much a mini version of floyd vs pac...except may would've had pac busted up since about round 3......

I think Floyd would have won, but not as easily as Rigo beat Donaire. Also, to lay all the blame on Pac for the fight not happening is questionable.

Couldn't agree more. I think Floyd would have been more aggressive towards the end of the fight than Rigo was, though.

Why do people compare Donaire to Pacquiao? Completely different fighters....and comparing Mayweather to Rigo....umm, yeah.

I always backed a Mayweather UD over Pacquiao but never imagined a one sided schooling like the one Donaire recieved on SAT. I always imagined a Floyd counterpunch fest but not any real exchanges.

Unfortunately for us between Mayweather requiring Pac to take further PED testing than he did to all previous opponents.. Even though he's the greatest fighter in the world supposedly and PEDs or not, Pac was an "asian midget". Also wouldn't split the $ anywhere near 50/50, or a winner takes 60/40 even though this fight would have produced DLH/ Mayweather #s... We didn't get to see it.

We all wish Floyd would have as much confidence in himself as you have in him. :deal

How is Pac's style similar to Donaires?

i somewhat agree, but the comparisons are still quite flawed
