I thought Broner edged it but you can make a case for PDL, but I just think over all Broner landed the better shots. But PDL landed good shots of his own and worked very well in that fight. This is one of those fights Nobody can sit back and disagree with either side it was that close. But reality is Broner got the win on the official cards where it counts.... deal with it...
Broner gave PDL too much respect. He wouldnt let his hands go and PDL took him to school. Had Broner fought with more confidence, he would have taken it but the rds he lost were clear and decisive. If u ignored PDLs bodywork then Broner won, but like i said, a draw is the closest you could score it for Broner.
It is really sad. Say Broner did lose this fight (which he didnt) does that make him less of a fighter now? No. They do the same thing with Floyd and Castillio (Floyd won both times) like it changes what kind of fighter they are now. It is really pathetic
I haven't seen the fight in more than a year, used to have it saved on my old DVR. If the fight is available on youtube I'll re-watch and give my score.
Nobody is even hating on Broner on this thread. Who said hes less of a fighter? You guys are being defensive here for no reason. Most of us agree Broner is a huge talent and vastly improved since this fight. We're just talking about this fight, nothing pathetic about that.
Looking back once more, rd 6 is tricky. PDL outlanded him with most of his shots were clean to the body. Broners shots up top moved PDL but quite a few caught a lot of glove. But u can see PDLs aggression begin to move Broner back towards the end of the rd and Broner had to respond with something. Could see tjis rd going either way but the cleaner and more frequent shots were PDLs bodywork
9 and 10 are also close, tough fight to score but if ur not giving credit to PDLs body work, definitely can see how youd score any of those last few rds for Broner
He should have rematched Ponce De Leon to set the record straight. Everyone knows Mayweather is better than Castillo, the first might have been close (due to mayweathers shoulder injury). Mayweather easily set the record straight in the second fight and then moved on with his career. Now thereas always that question mark that if Ponce De Leon and Broner fought again who would win?
