Vitaly Klitschko Getting stopped by the only ATG he ever faced Refusing rematches Fighting shameful bums nearly his entire career. PS - I knew you had no answer for me.
And Vitali refused to rematch Byrd despite promising to win his title back. Apparently, Wlad beat Byrd so it was all fine, never mind the fact that Vitali himself never avenged his defeat, as long as a Klitschko did it that was all that mattered apparently. And Vitali ran into retirement instead of fighting Rahman when Rahman was rated 1st or 2nd by three organizations, after Vitali pulled out of the fight four times claiming injury but at the same time tried to get the WBC to let him fight Brewster instead, only deciding to retire when the WBC told him to fight Rahman or lose his title.
everything you wrote here is total bull**** lennox lewis curing insomnia and refusing the rematch would be a case of something not being bull****.
So what should he have done? Continued fighting well beyond 40 with obvious declining skills and get beaten by fighters who wouldn't have troubled him in his prime? Vitali was a wake up call, it proved to Lewis that he was much deminished and was on the decline. He recognized this and walked away before he embarrassed himself. In truth, it would be far more shameful for him to have fought on for years and become regarded as joke like Holyfield and Toney than it was for him to walk away with his last fight being a close fought contest won va cuts. Why the hell should he have continued on fighting as a shadow of his former self just to please Vitali's fanboys who cannot accept that their guy blew his chance?
in other words: Vitali forced Lewis to retire. This is the truth Lewis's fanboys have hard time accepting.
"Forcing" a man who was already planning on retiring to retire isn't an achievement mate. Had he not fought Vitali he would have fought Roy Jones and another easy opponent and then retire. Shame Vitali cockblocked the Roy Jones fight by forcing a rematch, could have been a very interesting fight.
i watched the lewis retirement conference and i dont recall any shame Lewis wanted out long before he faced TYSON which was a year before he faced Vitali You guys invent credit for vitali because of desperation
lewis wanted 2 more fights after Tyson he only had 1, and then used the other to refuse the rematch so he could retire.
Direct interviews and the direction of his career. Lennox Lewis wasn't planning to have Kirk Johnson be his last fight, especially considering that Lewis was dominating everyone he was facing until his last fight.
no but vitali was supposed to be his last fight. it just happened earlier and he was clearly not hungry anymore
