Everyone thought Hagler was going to beat Leonard and do it easily. Hagler was one of the top boxers if not the top boxer, and Leonard had not fought since he beat Kevin Howard. Yes it was a close fight and Leonard as well as the rest of the fab 4 had more domanting wins over top compotion, but this is the biggest win of them all.

I thought people would vote Hagler-Hearns.

I think Hagler-Hearns is the best victory.

I think Hagler/Hearns is more the best fight. I think Duran/Leonard I and Leonard/Hearns I can give it a run for the money though.

Hagler Hearns undoubtedly. Everyone thought Hagler was ready to be taken, calling him a dinosaur, and that the reborn-better than ever Hitman, would be the one to detrhone him. Tommy had come a long ways since the Leonard fight in terms of development but still completely outboxed Leonard. He figured to do the same at the least if he couldnt knock Marvin out. many people thought he would in light of the shocking KO of Duran (my number two pick)

many thought Hearns was simply on the next level and that Hagler was on the decline. However, Hagler was not ready to be claimed. That would require another two years

Not only the best fight but the most WELL FOUGHT, the greatest achievement, one that was every bit impressive as Hagler Sibson, Hagler-Lee, Hagler-Obel 2, Hagler-Hamsho 1,2, Hagler Monroe three, and on N on

Number two pick is Hearns-Duran. an absolute shock and one I found to be quite disturbing in its ferocity, second only to Hagler-Hearns and at least on par with the first Pryor-Arguello fight

Third is Duran-Leonard; Duran, a lightweight moving up two weight classes to convincingly BEAT the champion, and with relatively little experience at that weight.

4th would be Leonard Hearns. Leonard was so behind in this fight, and trying desperately to land that haymaker that would turn things his way. not nearly as well executed or well fought as Hagler's attack, but in the end, it got the job done.

5th would be Leonard's official win over Hagler. It would rank first on my list but everyone knows Hagler was shot and so counts for little. a fight way too late for its time

no way was it Duran over Leonard. Ray was not a top fighter yet and the fact Ray fought his fight because Duran got him upset is fact. And the fact Ray said he was going to beat Duran at his own game, and yet Duran could not knock him out. That is the most overrated fight in the history of boxing as far as a win. In light of how easily Ray beat him two more times and Benitez beat him by boxing.

Shut your mouth and tell us which win was the greatest and don't say Hearns/Duran.

what is this nonsense. shutup and tell us what it is and don't tell us what it is? It could be Hearns vs. Duran. Certainly Hearns vs. Duran was the most devastating of all of them and the most complete domination.

Best win is either Leonard over Hagler or Hearns over Duran. Remember, Duran fought at 154 as early as 1978 when Hearns nor Benitez nor Leonard ever fought that high in weight, and he was champion when Hearns fought him at 154, so it really was a unification had they not stripped Duran of his title for not fighting Mike McCallum.

Then stop being a pansy and tell us your vote, without trying to detract other's first.

Could have voted any number of ways here. But the standout for me was Leonard coming back after 3 years out of it to defeat the 'unbeatable' Hagler.

If Ray wasn't a top fighter in 1980 when he beat Duran, then surely he wasn't a top fighter during the rematch or a year later when he beat Hearns. If anyone is trying to defuse a great win of a fighter it's above. Comical opinion.

I do agree, the size difference on fight night wasn't that much of a disadvantage. It wasn't as if it was Duran's first fight at the weight. Duran was a welterweight for just under two years prior to fighting Leonard.

Probably the most unerrated win is Hearns knocking out Duran with one of the most devastating KO's in the history of boxing. Something Leonard and Hagler failed to accomplish.

I voted for Leonard's win over Hagler.

    1. Leonard W12 Hagler
    2. Duran W15 Leonard
    3. Hearns KO2 Duran

You don't have patience to wait and see what I said. You must be young man, which is good as far as trying to be openminded and learning things and studying the videos. And that is why I tell people with Duran try and be openminded and look at the whole record. He was great, but overrated obviously, and his win over Ray was overrated. I don't follow what the general view of everyone else is, I make my own opinions based on the whole record and not just one fight, and Hearns knocking out Duran in 1984 was probably the greatest win, but I voted of Leonard over Hagler. Ray was not an established great in 1980 and Hagler was in 1987. That is the difference.

Again, another troll twisting things and over-exaggerating. The use of the word "everyone" was true for Hagler beating Leonard before the first bell rang. However, the Hagler-Hearns affair among fans, ex fighters, trainers, and people in the fight game was 50/50, with who they thought would win.

well can't beating Duran and proving he could change his style and win easily and making Duran quit make him a greater fighter? That was what was missing in Ray, learning to fight his fight.. He fought Duran's and admitted to it, and Duran taught him the lesson to fight his fight and Ray did beautifully in the next 2 fights with Duran and the next fights with Hearns and Hagler. As a matter of fact Leonard had to be taught by Quincy Taylor to box Hagler instead of fight him as he was going to.
Duran's size was not a good excuse for any of his fights. Duran has 3 excuses for each loss, and if one does not work his fans use the other. He was not in shape because he didn't train for Benitez,Hearns,Leonard etc. That does not work then he was small and little compared to them, even though he fought at 154 as early as 1978 before the 3 guys who beat him easily Leonard,Hearns,Benitez fought there. The other excuse is he was past his prime yet the only times he fought greats to see how good he was was when he fought Leonard,Hearns,Benitez, Hagler, so that is significant.
