Floyd Sr. says he has yet to study Guerrero

I will give it to him that his defense is a little better when boxing off the back foot. But he is very open for counters when he is throwing. Even in the Klassen fight, Guerrero was getting hit with very good shots (mainly straight rights to the head and body). Salido out boxed Guerrero and out fought Guerrero. My issue is that yes, Guerrero can look good fighting off the back foot against the opposition he has faced but who has he faced? I see Guerrero fighting off the back foot and being successful for a couple of rounds then he will start to get countered (he is really open for counters when he is throwing). Then Guerrero will try to make the fight dirty by cutting off the ring and smothering Floyd. But Floyd is a better inside fighter than Guerrero. Guerrero only has two modes. He either boxes or tries to get on the inside. If one isn't working then he does the other. Plus do you honestly believe Guerrero could OUTBOX Floyd? I don't believe Guerrero is ready for this level of opposition yet. But who knows. Guerrero could catch Floyd on a bad night and pull out the W.

 

I don't know why all fighters and trainers have this machismo attitude about pretending they never watch opponents' tape. I hate it.

 

If I were a fighter I'd get straight up creepy about it.

Berto is all flash. He doesn't time his punches. Guerrero tends to turn then unload combinations. Every time he does this, he leaves himself open for counters. He got dropped by Katsidis because of this. That wasn't really my point about Salido. Salido was setting up the right hand the same way Floyd was against Ortiz. He was throwing the jab out there (like a direction finder) then he would throw the straight right to the head or body (both were landing at will). I see Floyd concentrating more on the body in this fight knowing Guerrero is open for it.

Void, Sr. is the one who said that he would never allow Void, Jr. to fight Pac. He said that right after Pac stopped Cotto...........

Didn't Ray Leonard approach the Hagler fight with this kind of mentality?

 

Mayweather I'm sure says he doesn't gameplan as much as he adapts.

 

They dont need a set plan for this fight an in shape Floyd can do anything he wants against Guerrero.

Probably his weakest opponent since Boldomir.
