LOL? no. It was not supposed to be Lennox's last fight. Especially considering that LL promised to have more fights before the match and then promised to have a rematch with Vitali. But you know how good LL is at keeping promises. ugh you delusional lewis fans. Gotta teach you what really happened day by day.
he was scheduled for 3 bouts Johnson possible RJJ or Tyson rematch and then Vitali. That is my understanding of it. Vitali bribed Johnson, tyson didnt want to know and RJJ was not even a HW so he quit.........and he did the right thing. Tko 6 and a big tick in every single box in boxing.
"I want the rematch," Lewis said, speaking to the media on a conference call from New York. "I enjoyed that fight. It was just a fight. We went at it. You have to play dollars and cents but I'm opting more for the rematch." Lewis will still consider Jones and has spoken on the phone to the former light heavyweight champion who moved up to heavyweight in March and won a piece of the title from John Ruiz. Lewis, however, said he was leaving his options open and that "I am looking into the rematch because I want Vitali Klitschko." HBO PPV is holding Dec. 6 for Lewis' next bout. http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/sports/boxing/2003-07-02-notebook_x.htm :hi:
Lewis won the first fight and decided to retire. No problem here. This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected Vitali said: I want to fight the winner Haye/Chisora. Vitali never fought Haye, and now he did not want to fight Haye. Clear ducking.
Lewis won the first fight and would have won the second. So Vital´s legacy would hurt much more if Lewis fought him again. So the Vitali Fans should be happy the rematch did not happen. Vitali and his Fans can live from the myth Vitali did great against Lewis for 2 rounds.
Is this what the nuthuggers have been reduced to, straight up lying? This interview was just days before Kirk Johnson dropped out and Vittles stepped in fulfilling what Lewis wanted and had been planning on. No pressure and no heat of the moment quotes immediately following a fight. Can you read the parts in bold? 2 or 3 fights, nothing definitive except that he had been thinking about 1 last super fight before retiring. Thinking about retiring before he even knew he would be fighting Vittles, who he said he wanted. Johnson was the first fight but he dropped. Vits was the SECOND fight. Lewis won and than did as he had planned. Vits had his shot but couldn't capitalize, end of story. You should be happy he got any shot at all or he would have always been known as the guy who quit against feather fisted Chris Byrd and didn't have the balls to rematch him even the both were top ranked contenders for the next several years.
You know, given the amount of times you've written that or version of it and ignored any rational response to it just to post it again and again and again and again you'd have been banned for being a troll on any other forum and, frankly, I'm sick and tied of writing out reasoned responses to you just to be ignored just so you can post the same three words or variants of it repeatedly. Welcome to my ignore list.
if you think thats a valid citation and point you are just wrong. Key words "holding" "looking and "into"........not a promise just keeping "options open".
I directly scrolled down. See what you quoted, my heart skipped a beat and then it was filled with disappointment when I scrolled up again. Oh well, Klittards will never change, shouldn't get my hopes up
